Tyler Walker it is then
I’d stay well clear
His attitude at Portsmouth has been heavily criticised… appeared disinterested.
I think he needs to have a long hard look at himself. Would I take him - probably but it would be a risk in my view. And probably an expensive one
Seems we now have phycologists on Stagsnet to go with all the foitball managerial experts.
We have no idea what the problem is with Tyler Walker, if indeed there is one. I would take him on loan or at the right price.
Would imagine Nigel knows Des pretty well, well enough to get to the bottom of things maybe?

If Harbottle is the only defender we sign, he needs to come in and be our best defender. Not sure Perch, O’Toole and Hawkins at their age and lack of pace are nearly good enough for us to go up. Will be a tough ask for him considering he’s only made two EFL cup appearances for Forest and 11 appearances for Wealdstone.
If he’s not an improvement over Perch and Hawkins then I don’t think we’ve got enough quality at CB to go up.
Would love us to sign an athletic, relatively experienced CB too but Clough suggested we’ll only sign the one defender.

Not trying to over analyse just stating fact- he has struggled at Cov and Pompey. I’m agreeing with you I would take him but I think there are risks.

www.footballscotland.co.uk/spfl/scottis ... s-24095098That's some of the most random teams I think I've ever seen in an article. We aren't one of them but Burton is. Is that good enough of a link?

Unless he’s a massive upgrade I can’t see why we’d been looking for another midfielder, but we clearly are given we were interested in Stirk.

If we sign another midfielder before a striker, defender or GK I fear for this place

Don't forget exactly a year ago Richard Keogh trained with us and it simply turned out to be a favour.

excuse number 1.
well if he’d had a pre season with us he would have been ready to go & had time to gel with his new team mates ( just getting his first press conference sorted)

Our time will come

Armstrong Okoflex from West Ham United? Probably too good for our level but they're in St.Andrews and he's going.out on loan. He'd be electric.
You've got to go there and come back, to know where you've been.

My mate who’s an Ipswich fan told me he tore them to shreds in a pizza trophy game last season.
From what he told me, the lad sounds far too quick and tricky to be what we’re looking for

His name sounds like a sealant you'd buy from Wickes.

It's mainly those who haven't had a proper pre season anywhere that that "excuse" gets used.
It's why players can come train with other sides during pre season even if there's no chance of a deal. Just to gain fitness.
The oremier league players will train with their parent club because they will likely train with a higher calibre of players at higher calibre facilities with very good coaches. Did Nathan Bishop no harm last season at all.

We’ve got no chance, looks the business, that is exactly what we need though a pacy skillful player that comes in off the wing and can score, would be perfect on the right, macca on left, Oates up front ideally with Hawkins or someone else

Some players used to believe they did not need to be at their physical best to play well , Matt le Tissier was known to be a very poor trainer but still managed to play for England and Paul Mcgrath very seldom trained towards the end of his career but still turned out for Manu Utd .

But they still did training. I'm talking about players who miss training completely through injury or being without a club and not keeping fit enough.
Imagine how much better a player Matt Le Tissier would have been if he actually trained the best he could.

totally agree Le Tissier 8 caps ,
Keegan who by his own admission thought there were better players than him but he tried so much harder managed to get 63 ,
The point I am trying to make is Le Tissier had a 15 year career with one club and is quite rightly regarded as their best player ever despite never been remotely close to the fitness levels of the majority of other players . Fitness is vital but not the be all and end all of a players career .
