Goal music

Postby ParisStag » Sun Jan 16, 2022 10:20 am

Isn't it great not having to hear that daft music after we score? Not sure when the decision to scrap it was made, but a few of us on here were calling for it for years.

You can now hear the fans celebrate, which obviously helps the atmosphere loads. I wonder if Nigel was the one who asked for it.

It's always been a pet hate of mine. I love our theme tune but goal music is so unnecessary, especially when you have the fantastic vocal support we have at the Mill now. The support yesterday 2nd half was again superb.

Goal music always has been a stupid Americanism

Absolutely. Why would the club want to drown out the sound of fans celebrating? And if something originates in America, why do we feel the need to consider doing the same? Their culture is totally different from ours.

The music idea is probably based on the assumption that we haven't noticed the goal because we're too busy eating hot dogs and don't have the attention span to follow the game.

True for some people I know, but do the rest have to suffer?

The PA system is so bad, they're probably still playing it, we just can't hear it.

Pretty sure Alan announced Walsall as Port Vale when the teams ran out yesterday.

I think Alan needs some slack cutting as he is only getting to the games in a wheelchair as he has broken his leg.

Wasn’t aware of that, but my comment wasn’t meant as a criticism, it’s just a simple error,m. Made me chuckle.

It's not a good time for club staff with Stevo, Alan and Mark Hemingray all suffering injuries or illnesses.

I've heard people say that a few times, but the PA system is pretty clear, although a bit loud. So I don't understand the problem.

I usually sit in the middle of P block and can't really hear it, but on Saturday I went right up to the top of the stand and it was much clearer. Presumably that's where the tannoys are. It would be nice to be able to hear it 10 rows down though.

Mis-timed two footed tackle.
