Six flipping games. He needs fining for all of them. That’s ridiculous. What are his previous transgressions?

The fact that he thinks our best centre forward is our best centre half lays bare the utterly embarrassing transfer policy at this club. I don’t suppose he got asked any hard questions by the pet journalists?

Signing someone who is injured and is now out longer than first thought is bordering on negligence or just down right stupidity.

Poor poor management however you look at it!!

That’s the second time we have signed an injured player who has taken longer than expected to get fit.

The last one, Sarkic never got going.

I‘be not criticised before, but this is poor management from Clough.

Get Hawkins in at CB, Charsley back in midfield to replace Quinn and Bowery up top as the target man

So does that mean we will now look for an unattached centre half?

And if not, why not?

If Forrester has had one set back, who is to say he won’t have another. We simply can’t rely on an unfit loanee to solve our defensive frailties.

It appears even a player who has had no pre-season will be up to speed quicker than Forrester and possibly Perch. And either or both of those could break down once they start playing again.

I’m disappointed that the club has allowed itself to be in this position no matter whose fault it is. The extra money we are spending on better quality players is being totally wasted apparently for the sake of a few extra pounds. That is not good financial sense and may even put the club at peril of relegation if we don’t get someone in sharpish.

What is going off? Clough and his Brother and maybe even David Sharpe have completely dropped the ball here.

Sharpe for not getting players over the line, Clough for leaving it last minute and bringing in awful defenders.

What CB's are out there on a free? David Wheater?

I don't think Sarkic was injured when we signed him, he came off the bench in the first game after we signed him.

but his injury record was awful, was a last minute decision after not getting Akins, just like these 2 CB's.

There's no doubting that, but you can't blame a manager for signing someone who then gets injured. That's completely different to the Forrester situation.

You can say that he again left if very late and ended up with plan c again.

No worries. We have 2 of the chracters nailed on for the Wizard Of Oz when panto comes to the Civic with the Scarecrow and Lion in central defence. (Tin Man if you prefer)
The more you re-watch last Saturdays defence particularly goals 1 and 3 there is no way Clough can reward either of those 2 with the shirt again. If that means playing one of the forwards at the back (Bowery, Hawkins) we still have enough options up front with Oates, Johnson, Sinclair.

I agree, I think Hawkins has to play centre back.

Maybe my memory is playing tricks with me. I thought he had come to us on the back of an injury and was still recovering from it?

He definitely wasn’t match fit.

Either way, poor transfer business really. One of the big plus points about Clough was supposed to be his (and his brothers) ability to spot a player. So far we have had far fewer hits than misses.

I do have a sneaky feeling that Nartey will
come good though.

It’s even more baffling when you think that our main target on deadline day would have been out until November anyway.

Did we filter the search by ‘injured’

What as Quinn done to get a 6 game ban , the kick was innocuous , ok by the letter of the law 3 game ban, was it something he said.
Perch must have took some knock, and Forrester bad news, So we move forward with two central defenders still injured, leaving Rawson, Nartey, Hewitt.
certainly a lot for the manager to think about.
Perhaps a change of system, with a defensive midfielder certainly all hands to the pumps

Rawson really wasn't that bad before he got dropped, certainly no worse than how Hewitt & Nartey have been last 2 games. By no means is he perfect, but i'd get him back in. I'm with others on here, i think Nartey will come good.

Also, taking Hawkins out from the forward line makes us considerably weaker up top.

So in short the defence and the recruitment of the defence is a farce.

That’s all that was needed.
