They told Ben Turner he wasn't getting a new contract weeks ago.

He's only just got out of Meadow Lane he's that slow

Bottom half of NL is about his level.

Only county players i saw who'd possibly be worth a punt were Rodrigues & wooton

Yes, that's where I saw it. Some of their fans are saying it's a done deal. Also Clarke, who they had on loan from Villa.

Although I have no love for County, I think it is appropriate to acknowledge they have two ex-players set to appear in the England/Scotland game tomorrow a feat probably unique in non league football.

Callum McGregor and Jack Grealish both starred for County whilst on loan at the club back in their league 1 days.

I’m just pleased they were both loan players and County didn’t get a fee for them when they left.

I'm not giving them that, if Jimmy knowles played for England it would have fek all to do with them and the stats would show he was a Mansfield Town player.
They didn't make the playoff either.

I'm not bitter :D

:D :D Unfortunately though both players have praised the way they were encouraged at County and credit them for contributing to their success.

It would be very interesting to see if this has ever happened before and I think the chances are pretty slim. For two future international to be on loan at a club at the same time is very unusual. For that club to then slide into non league whilst those players are still playing just adds to the long odds. They obviously jumped ship while the going was good

who cares?

I don't get clubs that obsess over ex loan players. Christ Derby fans act like Mason mount came out of their academy and was born at the baseball ground.

Up to you.

I just thought it was an interesting fact others may enjoy. As far as I know county haven’t been obsessing over them and probably haven’t even noticed.

£350-£400 for cheapest season ticket on general sale. The premium for watching 5th tier football.

They have no parachute now, what they make pays the wages. They don't have owners to splash cash all over t'shanty either. If Clownty fans want a team to challenge next term they'd better start buying those STs.

Sounds like they are saying what the fans want to hear during season ticket sales time to me.

It will be interesting to see what their squad looks like when the season starts as I can’t see it being as strong as this year’s.

I was talking to another dad at my kids football this morning and he mentioned he's on the board of both Football Radar and at Notts County.

Mentioned that they keep a keen eye on the goings on at Mansfield. Football radar had us finishing in 4th last season so he was surprised it went how it did. He was very impressed with Johnson and Hawkins signing on.

He said they were signing the Hartlepool captain today but he's got covid so he can't come in and do his medical so they're just skipping it. They've scanned the contract o er to him and just hoping he signs.

Finally, something we all knew but said the Chesterfield manager is a complete nob and half his team hate him. Before their playoff match with chesterfield, apparently the Chesterfield manager played the players a 2 minute montage of video clips of him celebrating goals on the touchline. To gee them up apparently!
You've got to go there and come back, to know where you've been.
