Only one home friendly this summer

Postby Chadman » Thu May 06, 2021 8:51 am

If fans are allowed back in then this could be a sell out whoever Stags play!

Cloughs local contacts might help.
Burton, Derby, Shef weds, Forest then we've got the away contacts Liverpool, Man city and England.

That will do nicely thank you.

I enjoyed being the only away fan at Redditch United last year. The home fans were buying me pints!

This Chad website is utterly rubbish a few words then loads of adverts. It’s so annoying I’ve given up reading it.

Had a similar situation before when so many threads turned into chadnet. If the content was original it may just about be worth fighting through the advertising, but so many links to the same story just makes you think nah the minute you see a chads link .

I realise all printed journalism are struggling and fighting a losing battle against the internet and I do have a certain amount of sympathy but so many links to the same story is very frustrating and the amount of advertising and pop ups is well over the top.

Top tip for making the Chad website legible: Use an ad blocker, then to avoid the 'disable your ad blocker' pop up which stops you reading the article you need to disable Javascript on the site. In chrome, top left next to the URL, site settings, disable Javascript for http://www.chad.co.uk. :)

I disabled the ad blocker just out of curiosity. The website is hideous. Who on earth clicks on those sponsored link ads? "Canal drained for the first time and they find THIS!"

The friendlies we have away need to be competitive and not strolls around whupping some now league minnows like Retford/Gainsboro, they're not even Conf North standard now. Ok they're ok for YT outings but first team would get zero value in them. Away friendlies for first team need to be at places of the standard of Clownty, Grimsby, York, Harrogate and Altrincham. Decent standards (especially Harrogate, who're the same standard as us if not better) to test the players being as though we have just the one home friendly against decent opponents.

We don't want folk coming on here saying, 'we're struggling because PS was was Tommy' etc, etc after 10 games. So we have to find decent quality to play.

Basking in the late evening sunshine watching our team cane Gainsboro 7- 0 whilst troughing a tray of chips down us won't be a useful outing now the play at the level AFC do. We may as well go to AFC, it'd help a local club out if that's the standard of friendly we're looking at.
