Jimmy Knowles has a lot to learn and going out on loan is to gain experience not just on the pitch but in a team environment, fighting for the right to play is just one of them.
We require a team that challenges league 2, and competes with ease in league 1 minimum,, our current strikers are Cook , Reid, Bowery, Maynard, and fans want that improving upon.
Expecting a lad who cannot get in a conference team , get into our squad could be a bridge to far, attitude will be a big factor with us, and any challenges Knowles will face will start and end with how he applies himself. Expecting what you feel lesser players to do your work load cannot be good enough, many a young player has failed because character is a basic requirement. Good luck Jimmy you are in good hands for your future

Nigel Clough told BBC Radio Nottingham (interview available via iFollow Stags):

"Jimmy Knowles is happy at Notts County, they are happy with him, so he will probably stay there for the rest of the season."

makes sense if he's happy but thought he wanted to go and play football. Hopefully they will need him when the games mount up

I think it’s really good experience for Jimmy, he’s closer to there first team than he would be ours and he’s had more game time there than he would here. He’s competing in a really competitive squad for a starting place for a team who’s fighting for promotion. It will bode him well for the future and will definitely get more games towards the end of the season when fixture pile up happens. If he can bag 10 goals this season I’d see it as a win for all involved.

I think if I’m right Jimmy has scored in every game he has started for County. One in the league, three in the cup.

5 goals in 451 minutes, a goal every 90 minutes.

post-match interview: Jimmy says he's happy with his performance. Says he can improve his hold-up play. Says he's happy with his minutes to goals ratio and will be ready when he gets his chance in the league games.

He was brilliant again but I bet he doesn't start on Tuesday night. Shame really because he deserves a start. He actually scored twice yesterday as he scored his penalty in the shoot out as well as during the game.

Think we should launch a FREE JIMMY campaign before he scores any more goals. BRING OUR BOY HOME!

he can't be recalled now. He could only have been recalled during the January transfer window

Ah OK. Does that mean that if their season is called off he wouldn't be allowed to return to our squad?
