Slightly surprised how early it has been called off, particularly with the rain slowing down, at the ground now and it’s very very light drizzle with over an hour until KO. I do feel we could probably have done more to get it on but both managers probably secretly okay with it being off with the injuries/illnesses among the teams.

Dissapointing as we’d finally caught everybody up in the league and was in a good position but could be pegged back yet again now. Hope it’s played as soon as we can.

Forest are at home to Ipswich Saturday so the plod won't allow it, what with 300 Ipswich fans & 83 from Crawley you can see why.

I think we need the rest this Saturday for the squad to recover.

Let us hope the results go for us tonight.

According to t'Beeb Bish, CJ and Jacob + one other were doubtful for tonight so DF prayed for rain and being as though God IS a Stag same as Flitters he opened the heavens for us.

Quite, well for selfish reasons I’d like to see it on Saturday but can understand why both clubs wouldn’t want to, could always play on the 3rd round weekend as well

Surely they could police both events. Crawley's handful of normally well behaved fans hardly pose a big policing issue!

Having actually worked at a couple top clubs.

I can tell you injuries etc never have anything to do with games being postponed. It's 99% of the time the refs decision.

I know of one case last year where a championshio game was called off for icy conditions and the manger had actually asked for it to be off in anyway possible or he would of had to play 4/5 YT against promotion rivals but the local safety group had already said it wasn't safe. And had they not reached that decision it would of been on.

Re covers, they take hours to put on and only really work for frost. Rain just sits on them and soaks through the gaps or ends up on the pitch when you take them off.

It's rained, the pitch is soaked, the ball doesn't move, ref has postponed it. End of discussion.

I chatted to Flitcroft briefly. He was gutted the game was off. Talked about having caught up the games in hand, and now the other teams will steal a march on us again.

I chatted to Mez too, who was also gutted to have the game off. And his record of four years without having a game off, was gone.

But nothing could be done. The rain was too heavy. The pitch was unplayable.

Was anything mentioned about a potential date for the rearranged fixture?

no. But Crawley not interested in playing the game on Saturday. Their Italian manager was going home for a few days, and had given the players several days off until Monday. According to the Crawley Observer, Ollie Palmer was going to Ibiza for a few days.

Already got fixtures on 3rd round day so unless Carlisle beat Lincoln and Cheltenham beat Accy (both away) then no!

3 Games at home

3 Games Away

A tough month

All home games should be winnable

With a Banana skin at Grimsby but hopefully they'll have their mind on round 3 of the FA Cup

Long trip to Carlise with a very tough game at Colchester

Points Prediction 13

Anyone know what will be happening regarding match passes for iFollow purchased for the original fixture ? There was talk of getting a code via email to access the replayed game but so far nothing.

Will we set up 4-4-2 or will White or Benning play in the middle?

We need to score two as Palmer is bound to get one.
