Really disappointing from the stags fans who got through the netting towards the Salford fans and then realised they were outnumbered.
Always going to happen when you can buy tickets on the day, and the kids decide to turn up and cause bother!
I always thought doing it with Salford was a mistake.
Hopefully Mansfield town can take lessons from this, more stewards needed and a better barrier in the neutral area!
Great to see so many Stags fans in there, just a shame that 3/4 spoiled it for everyone!

It was allocated seating which is ok when everyone comes with plenty of time to spare but that also means some stay in the bar in the west right up to kick off then enter the North stand and havnt a clue where their seat is . People were just sitting anywhere like at an away match .

The clowns who walked across with absolutely zero intention of doing anything at all have no doubt ruined what should be a great experiment, they want spraying liberally with liquid raspberry.
What is wrong with folk.....I didn't recognise them but they should be named from anyone who does....I dare say they wouldn't have walked over acting the big man if it had been a Port Vale type following..

A few Mansfield fans ended up not being far from the Salford fans in the corner, there was one steward up there with no chance of controlling the stags fans that wandered over to have a go and some Salford fans got close to them. Nothing really happened but it's not great it happened not long into the experiment.

Should have been more stewards up there in hindsight / or police

So it's the fault of the club/stewards/police, and not the morons who can't watch a football match without feeling the need to start a fight ?

Not sure how you've got to that conclusion, I'm just saying it could have got ugly and if there were more security up there they wouldnt have let either fans get near each other. but no one probably expected that to happen against Salford.

Presumably the club will have excellent CCTV footage. If so why not share it and get the idiots named, shamed and banned. We are flying and these muppets shouldn’t be allowed to spoil that in any way and potentially restrict the number of available seats when they are at a premium.

2-3 stags fans were escorted out by of the ground shortly after the incident. Hopefully it doesn’t end the experiment and this will be used as a learning (from a stewarding point of view).

Unfortunately we do have some idiots and more stewards will be required to sit between both sets of fans (like they did after the incident) if this is going to work going forward.

As soon as it happened, the response in our area was that SAG would leap on it and will bring in further restrictions or require more stewards.
To my aging eyes, it looked like people who were old enough to know better - hopefully a ban is coming for those who were ejected.

There certainly needed to be more stewards (sadly) as there were only 2/3 on each side.

Also it caused no end of congestion down the turnstiles towards the north stand, they’re busy enough as it is without another 500 or so trying to get through.

Good to see in general though, hope it happens again.

Seems that I must have caught the incident later than everyone else, as I thought the Salford supporters were trying to make ground before ours. Not that it excuses it.

Like others, my instant concern was that the North Stand experiment would end. Hopefully training instead.

That was my thought too Scothie, probably too busy celebrating our goal.

North stand yesterday

Postby old ram stag » Sun Feb 25, 2024 1:08 pm

Great to see two blocks full of stags fans yesterday in the north stand and well done to them for their addition to the atmosphere, but did anyone notice for the start of the game it was quite empty until about the 10 minute mark? Why was that? Tell me they didn't lock the gate and make stags fans walk all the way round passing the away turnstiles in doing so? Is the purpose of locking the gate to keep away fans and home fans apart? If so yesterday's decision to close it if it was intact closed is just confusing.

Entry for Stags fans to North Stand was via west stand turnstiles and hence there were massive queues outside west stand at kick off.

Just seen the 3rd goal again, our eejits are on there way across the gap before the ball even reaches the back of the net.

I'm afraid they need identifying and banning for at least the rest of the season. We can't allow a few fools to stop us having nice things.

Yeah, I noticed that I was wrong via the young Salford supporter's Vlog. As you say, we must have been too busy celebrating.

I agree, hopefully we can identify and ban them, and then continue with the rest of the experiment

So, anybody who went across the netting needs banning. Anyone who sings the AKins song needs banning including the drummer if he starts it. What about people who stand up in their seats ? We won’t need Bishop Street stand at this rate.
