Probably not that many given it's a freezing school night against raspberry fgr who bring no atmosphere or glamour, bottom of the league, and we're out of form.

This isn't a good test scenario for increasing capacity.

Realistically they have to test in a low charge fixture, where the opposition aren't going to bring many and their fan bases aren't filled with those looking for a scrap or potentially causing trouble

It's better than nothing at all.

They're not trying to test whether we can fill the extra seats - we know we can do that for the right fixture.

They're proving that we can sit in the North Stand and behave.

Trying it in a few games will also hopefully give our fans a taste for sitting there and drive enthusiasm for it further down the line.

Bought my ticket for Ian Greaves lower last night. As usual virtually nothing available online apart from 4 or 5 in G block. Two together was not an option, so would put some people off.
I'll take my pick from the 20 odd empty seats in A and B Block that weren't put up for sale, when I get there. Still a shambles.

No, thought A and B reserved for flag wavers and mascots families

Keep up, Dave, A&B blocks talking about are in the North Stand. Block H is the flag bearers block.

Walsall scorefred sponsored by lets rock DJ into oblivion

Postby Cleveland_Stag » Thu Feb 15, 2024 4:43 pm

Completely off topic - have the club announced yet that the north stand will be open to home fans next week against Salford? We should be able to have a bumper home crowd off the back of scoring 9 the other night, especially if we can win this weekend too.

Need to trial it on a few Saturdays don’t we. Done it on two Tuesday nights so far when crowds are going to be lower.

Salford
Colchester
Accrington
Crawley
FGR
Gillingham (if they’re not in playoff contention)

All the above games should have north stand open, especially as five of those fixtures are Saturday/bank holiday games.

The Gills are the only team on that list likely to bring more than 200.

FGR on a Tuesday won't bring more than a coach load.
Facts do not cease to exist because they are ignored.

Gillingham? I wouldn't have thought so, they brought 631 last season.

True, although they’d only just got their new owners hadn’t they and suddenly were in really good form coming into their game against us. If they’re in the playoffs or still have a chance to make it, they’ll bring too many fans for the trial, but if they’re mathematically out of playoff contention I don’t think they’ll bring more than 300-400 at most.

I watched their game at Notts County on Friday night. They took 950. There is no way we will be assuming they will only bring a small number to us.

Salford have brought 115, 73 and 108 in their 3 visits (apart from behind closed doors game). Yes I would expect they should be available.
