Such a shame for the lad if this story is accurate.

It is a shame, but it’s also fair to say he puts himself in these positions.

When he did his shoulder it was because he was thundering in to folks.

When he got injured against Wednesday it’s because he was charging down the keeper.

Same again at Stockport.

Fully appreciate it’s part of his game to hassle the opposition but if he was just a little bit smarter with it he’d save himself a lot of injuries in my opinion. You can close people down with intensity without always having to clatter in to people at the end of it.

In the discussion thread for a new striker, or not, many of us said that RO couldn't remain fit for the rest of the season. I don't think any of us thought it would happen so quickly. Wish the lad all the best for a full recovery as he needs some good fortune.

So do we still need one attacking player or two now?

I can still only see one coming in personally, on the premise that DKD stays as we all hope.

Swan will need to up it now though, has to show us more

Totally agree. He’s too full blooded without thinking at times. I watch Akins conserving energy when he needs to, but Oates is a player who just can’t do that unfortunately.

We might have seen the last of him in a Stags shirt. As good as he was, he’s becoming another Jack Wilshire. I believe his contract is up in the summer and I can’t see him being offered another year when he will probably miss most of it. Shame.

Wish the lad the speediest recovery, awful news. Whether we offer a contract or not I hope we do the bare minimum and offer our full support and facilities for him to complete his rehab.

It’s obviously true when Clough said we will know in a few weeks time! He’s out for a long time. We now need better.

We will likely never see him again in a stags shirt. I love his effort rate but he isn’t good enough as a footballer

Some doubt he will play for us again. Best wishes on his recovery. We needed a striker or 2 before this. Our season probably depends on it now.

Really tough on him as he has just become a father too. Lots of sleepless nights and feeds coming his way now

I think it is extreme to say he is finished as a Stag.

Should his injury be a season ender he will be back next year in recovery, our club do not kick injured players out.
