New kit deal with Castore

Postby ParisStag » Thu Apr 06, 2023 10:23 am

Stags have announced a new kit deal with brand Castore, who have recently done kits for Newcastle, Rangers, Wolves, Villa and Ireland. They look very smart to be fair. Well done Sharpey and co.

They will be managing the online store as well? So we can resign the current one that not only looks like it was designed in the early 00s but run like the Internet speeds back then.

They do have nice looking kits. Heard mixed things about the quality of them but we shall see.

Good news this is. For the last 10 seasons with Surridge we’ve had the cheapest, lowest quality kits in the football league. I think this is reflected in how many of our fans actually buy and wear the kits to games too. In the warmer months of seasons gone by, I always notice that a lot less of our fans are wearing our kits compared to how many fans of the opposition team are wearing their teams kit. Hopefully Castore will be better!

This was rumoured a good few months ago, good to hear that it's happening.

Now we are with a large forward thinking sportswear company, maybe it's about time we had something at MacArthur Glen along with a Castore outlet.

Heard in the past that Castore products are quite pricey.

Looking forward to seeing the new kit designs.

Happy with this, Castore kit designs always look proper smart. But apparently the quality is a bit poor.
Will be a nice change from the Surridge kits that have a crap design and a crap quality.

Get ready for the MELTDOWN on here when you see how they will be priced. They consider themselves to be a premium brand, trying to be a British version of Nike or Adidas (which they clearly aren't) so shirts will be upwards of £50 each I estimate.

Also there'll be three kits when we barely even wear a second one, let alone a third, but that is the norm these days I suppose.

The worrying thing is how it states that Castore will take over the shop and the online business.

If past examples where they do this are to go by, then they will literally just sell their own stuff (i.e. kits and training wear) and you won't be able to get hats, scarves and all the other stuff that you see normally in the club shop.

So get it bought now whilst it's still there.

Even though Dan will not admit to it, but big Mike Ashley and Sports Direct are very much involved with Castore. Should see all range in Sports Direct shops.

Just checked and you can get super cheap Castore kits from Sports Direct, so no doubt it’ll be the same for us end of next season.

It’s not true though. You’ve been listening to the obsessed too much.

https://www.rangersnews.uk/columnist/mi ... tore-deal/

This time last year, Castore were quick to dismiss any suggestion there was any ‘correlation’ between Castore and Mike Ashley, having had similar questions from Rangers fans.

“I know that Newcastle people look at everything through a Mike Ashley lens,” Castore co-founder Tom Beahon told the Athletic. But there is no story there. There is no correlation between Castore and Mike Ashley. The truth is there’s none [no relationship]. Ashley is not a shareholder in Castore. The Rueben Brothers aren’t investors. The answer is definitively no.

“I have all my investors’ numbers, I know them on a first-name basis, and I don’t have Ashley’s number in my phone.

“We’ve partnered with Rangers and Newcastle because of the opportunity, the potential upside, and it’s nothing to do with Ashley.”

Can you show us where the naughty man touched you?

I’m off to Silverstone tomorrow for British Superbikes. Do that. Do that.
PS. Saracens get bigger crowd than Stags. Are you saying that crowd size equals quality or interest?
