what in earth is the commercial side of the club doing here ?

only at MTFC

The Commercial Dept are happy to trumpet an energy deal with someone called Troo that the majority of us have never heard of but remains absolutely silent on this issue that is causing real discontent amongst the fan base.

Someone wake up!!!

What do you think should happen Chris? You obviously feel it is a major problem that is holding the club back and requires urgent attention?

Not sure if you're being sarcastic but I'll give you the benefit of the doubt. The club is riding high in League 2 with a wave of optimism surrounding it and crowds way above what the club may have anticipated or expected. The merchandising of any sporting franchise, club or team has always been a money spinner and big business, obviously in relation to its size and individual status. For there to be absolute silence from the club on the empty shop for the first 4 months of the season not to mention the disappointment generated and the lost revenue is a concern. Having worked in private industry any Sales Manager not maximising revenue would, by virtue of their remit, be held accountable. Apart from supporting the team itself wearing club shirts and colours, collecting memorabilia etc is probably the second most important issue especially to the younger fans. How many will have had hopes for a Stags related Christmas gift or birthday present only to be disappointed? There seems to be a disconnect between the club and the fans at a time when it should be capitalising on success and interest. As I said earlier the Commercial Dept is seemingly active in getting business partnerships but this area is strangely silent.

Man Uniteds merchandising revenue was £109 MILLION pounds and despite limited success had grown by almost 20% at a time when there are all the obvious issues facing it on the pitch. Clearly no one there has sat back and waited ...... I'm not comparing us to them but just stating how much merchandising can matter to a club.

I wasn't being sarcastic mate. I agree with you on the main point just wanted to hear suggestions about how the club could do better. Sorry for the confusion.

The only explanation I can think of is that the Stags sold everything for one 'mega' price and the deal was that Castore collected all the revenue. Any missed sales are then down to Castore and Stags are not missing out on income as they have had it all upfront.
Those accustomed to privilege may feel that equality is oppression.

That's valid Pete but what about any responsibility to the fans and ensuring that value for money is achieved at both ends of the deal?

Problem is that nobody is listening and nobody appears to give a damn. Strange way to run a professional football club.

Aston Villa will be with Adidas next season, finishing their contract with Castore early.

Surely we’ve got to be looking at doing the same.

I reckon an Adidas Stags kit would be quite sexual.

Any of the main brands would be better wouldn't it.
Would like an Umbro made shirt personally.

Would love Umbro or Hummel. Are Admiral still going or are they long gone?

I liked the design of this season’s shirts, purely because it was a throwback to when I first started watching us but as the quality and customer service is cack I hope we are seriously looking at binning Castore.

Admiral are still going in a couple of capacities, I think they did the Shrewsbury kit a few years ago, they are now Umbro.

Admiral Sporting Goods Co. do some really good quality & classy bits of clothing - https://admiralsportinggoods.com
I backed my car into a cop car the other day, he just drove off, sometimes life's okay...
