Funny but i watch two teams must be boring to only watch one.

Have to agree, whilst there may have been little in terms of shots at goal, the game was hard fought, Grimsby fans made for a good atmosphere, and it could have gone either way right to the end.
An entertaining 0-0 for me, as opposed to the visit of Sutton on Sat, with zero atmosphere, and the prospect of us struggling with a day less to recover, and a battered squad.

Oh God, so what you're saying is that despite last night, the worst is yet to come

Depends on how you look at it I guess, I just happen to think it wasn't a bad game....its not all about goals for entertainment, though they do count for points if you get more than the opposition of course..

Everyone wants to see their team score goals and win games, but for anyone to suggest that the game on Wednesday was boring and they nearly fell asleep makes you question whether they actually understand football.
Admittedly neither side had their shooting boots on, but there were 17 corners and 26 attempts on goal (13 each) according to the official stats.
I thought it was a very entertaining game with both teams attacking, little in the way of the niggly gamesmanship that we see so often, and a ref who controlled the game well and let it flow.
A neutral football fan would have had a good night out, all it was lacking was a goal or two.

Good defending and a clean sheet is as good for me as goals scored. It just isn’t as exciting to watch though. You can’t beat the feeling when a goal is scored, although an amazing save or last ditch tackle is very close!

Morons out in force again today.....grown men showing off in front of their kids and arguing with stewards......then the two that came in from the Grimsby stand , looked like a father and son, he shouted the usual , 'come on!! get raspberry behind em you raspberries ' before going up to the top of the stand giving it large and then being marshalled out with his Dad in tow. If it wasn't so cringeworthy , embarrassing, vile , intoxicated behaviour it would have been funny..

The lowest of the low came today when a lad in our own stand ripped up a seat (to the left of the goal) and then decided it would be a good idea to lob the seat down hitting someone directly infront of me on the head.

Now look, we all have moments (i know i do) where we post stuff etc etc but to actually rip up a seat and then throw it down on your fans is a new low.

It’s one of those where i actually can’t understand the reasoning.

Had to tell a few intoxicated bananas to stop standing on the seat in front of my young lad today ....
They seem more bothered about goading stewards and opposition fans than watching the game...

Nor sure where they have all come from all of a sudden if I'm honest...
These are my opinions , if you don't like them I have others...

Well I thought I'd go and sit away from the more crowded side, thinking you can still get behind the team etc....then people come in after kick off, one bloke decides to start ripping up the meshing and telling his kids to do the same, shouting at a steward who gave up asking him to sit down, then a grown man in his 40s shouting dogs abuse at the Grimsby morons, when questioned by a very sweaty steward he held his arms up as if in prayer, saying stuff like 'Mate 'ive done nothing wrong etc etc.
As a bloke of more senior years, and at the risk of folk saying it's acceptable, banter, etc etc, I just look at the kids who take in all this in and wonder what the next few years these kids will grow into....call me old fashioned, boring , whatever I don't really care.
But I do care where many young kids are headed, at least they mostly have a bit of designer gear on , so that's OK.

I think this was due to Shirebrook Stags getting late to their seats.

I was on the Shirebrook Stags bus. It wasn't just us. 8 buses left Brigg (Shirebrook and Westfield) at 2pm, police pulled us in a layby but then all coaches got stuck in the traffic at Cleethorpes meaning 400+ all got to the turnstiles at about 14:50.

None of us had any choice than to get in the stand and stand/sit where we could.

Its not just Mansfield fans who can be idiots. How about the Grimsby fan who got his penis out and started flashing at the away end?! He got kicked out but I don't know what on earth goes through peoples minds, that is absolutely vile.

Leaving Brigg at 1400 is cutting it fine, don't you think? It's at least 30 to 45 minutes away from the ground. Whose decision was that?

I agree Rob, I'd have been leaving at 13:45 latest if it was up to me, 13:30 would've been ideal.

I'm not sure who's decision it was. A mixture of coach organisers and police I think.

It was 24 minutes from the place we stayed in brigg to the ground so 2pm was plenty of time imo... a police escort imo is where they take you straight through... my kid was getting crushed outside along with another young lad due to 400 getting there at same time .. I ripped the netting off so I could get my lad sat down and yes I stood most of the game .... sorry i dont want to be in the ground as soon as they open on away days.......grimsby steward's was horrendous they was letting ya through to toilet then they wasn't others at least be consistent... but no ... oh well onto the next one we was no more moronic than the clowns that was booing them last week....

There's a word for the grimsby fans opposite ..... one exposing his raspberry and the other making sexual gestures to a 9 year old girl.....

To be honest there were nearly 1300 Stags fans there, only a tiny minority behaved like morons. At no stage did any of our group feel uncomfortable, ashamed, but not at any risk. From what I saw the Policing and Stewarding were excellent.

There was a kid in front of me who was a upset that a smoke bomb hit his mum. If you're going to throw smoke bombs, try and get them on the pitch, not in the middle of the fans.

Also, the little scrotes who were so outraged when the Grimsby keeper turned round and gave them some back were absolutely embarrassing. Don't dish it if you can't tek it.

Better yet, if you want to throw smoke bombs (or seats) just do us all a favour and raspberry off to another club.

100% this on the flare issue !!

I never could understand the "But it's football" argument that many fans used to give for their 'Moronic' behaviour.

Indeed, but I think Paris said he likes a smoke bomb for the atmosphere. The smoke drifted into the stand, it wasn't pleasant and added nothing.

I personally think they’re abhorrent, i don’t get what the point of them, i really don’t.

That throwing seats and smoke bombs at your own fans seems to be a thing now is very concerning.

I don't have a massive issue with smoke bombs in theory. They don't smell nice, but I do think they add something. That said, if they're upsetting people, especially kids, I would rather they weren't used.
