Since we signed dunn playing with akins no surprise akins class has shown what a good valuable player he is, nothing against akins his is not a right back, wing back, winger and I feel when he plays these positions,he looks like a donkey and looks lost on the pitch (even though he tries) I feel it makes him worse ...
We don't always have the luxury to do that. NC likes to have a smaller tight knit squad with versatility. Unfortunately the amount of injured players we have currently has stretched us greatly. The other option is to have two or three specialist players for each position. The danger with that is it can cause unrest with those players who have to sit in the stand.yorkshire stag wrote:tiptop wrote:When played in the correct position (upfront) with the right player's around him, akins is a class player and bring alot to the team...

That's fine, but Yorkie is right, we play better when our players play in their best positions - Akins has been superb in his central attacking role where he is clearly at his most effective - the difference has been quite staggering. The small squad is by choice and I think we have suffered for it this season - I honestly believe 2 more players (a CB and a LB/LWB) and a replacement for Danny Johnson if we'd sold him, would have seen us comfortably in the top 3 as we would have been much better placed to cope with the injuries to Oates, Macca and Harbottle. This would also have allowed us to loan out Gale and Law to get much needed regular football. Despite all the injuries to midfield players we have coped well there, I think that tells its own story.

Totally agree with this Rob and if we don’t make it then the management team need to be accountable, we are still hanging in there and let’s hope we can continue too pick up point by no means is Rochdale a Gimme on Monday the fans need to get behind them from k/o the 12th man is more evidently needed than any other time of the season .. coys

Now in America wrote:He is the type of player that is very difficult to play against. His gait with the use of his arms, legs, knees and elbows makes it difficult for his markers to get close to him. I think Hayden White would testify to that when trying to stop him crossing the ball for the winning goal yesterday. He was actually pushed in the face. In my view he is a valuable member of the first team group of players that the Club have assembled.
