I've never considered Hawkins a centre back. He was a striker who did a job there, so for me we have gained a centre back and lost a striker. Therefore, as we saw today, we really need a striker now. We also need a left sided defender, but a striker has to be the next priority.

But Hawkins was played as a defender (whether we think he's better up front (he is) or not is irrelevant, he's played as a defender) because we didn't have enough. Bowery, another forward, was played CB because we didn't have enough cover further proof we need another CB.

The fact a striker kept out Perch and O'Toole is evidence that we don't have enough good defenders. We've 3 CB Hewitt, Harbottle and Kilgour. Hewitt is probably better at RB/RWB but Johnson is good and Hewitt is a good standard of CB.

Hewitt, Kilgour, Harbottle, Perch, JJOT is plenty if we're sticking to back 4

True, but 2 of those couldn't displace a CF from the starting line up.

1 moves to LB/LWB when Macca is injured. 1 is a midfielder converted to CB. Another has 172 apps at RB, 95 apps at defensive midfield and 79 apps as a CB (42 of which are for us at CB) .

We have 2 natural centre backs and Hewitt is a very good option. The rest are converted ageing players.

Players capable of playing RB and/or RWB: Johnson, Hewitt, Gordon,, Akins, Perch.

Exactly so we have plenty of options in all 4 positions for a back 4.

What league are teams like Fleetwood and Burton in?

What league are teams like Mansfield in?

The amount of fans they get is irrelevant. Salford make some good signings with piss poor gates.

They are owned by a multi millionaire who has put the headquarters of his businesses in the stand they were building when we were both non league.
He has invested in excess of ten million in the club as well building the stands

They've lost 4 million in the last two years but appear to be reducing the losses to just under £900k on the last accounts.

Do you know what is par for L1, Zod?
I presume some clubs are risking massive losses on getting to the Championship whilst others are just trying to stay up and remain mildly sustainable

To be honest I don't.
Paper losses are sometimes due to investing so much money that you don't pay any tax.
I suspect that's what Fleetwood are doing at present, as they seem to have setup an international football school for overseas players.
