Can’t help but feel the excitement of the new signings is not matched by that starting line up

Will feel slightly better if it’s a diamond, but I suspect it won’t be.

Come on Stags!

Can’t believe that Kilgour isn’t in the side. Would have played him at 80% today over Perch. Him and Johnson in the side and a win could have served as a real statement.

I like the line up personally! We’ve been crying out for someone to sit in front of the defence like Wallace.

So we’ve got to have one more really poor performance at the back then for Kilgour to get a start. Nice one.

He might well sit in front of the defence but he’s not good at it whatsoever. Absolute passenger.

That is not a good 11  Perch and Wallace starting is sad. We need another centre midfielder in then don’t we if Wallace is having to start games.

Surprised Kilgour isn’t starting. How else is he going to gain match fitness? We’ve not got any cup games for him to play in have we.

Well I didn't think I'd be seeing people wanting more midfielders this season  funny old game, isn't it?

Hopefully he can prove you wrong today but we’ve been embarrassingly in defence at times so don’t blame Clough trying to play him there

Eh? Have you seen Wallace for us so far?

Hoping he proves us wrong but he's looked miles off it, and that's being generous.

Great idea. Bring in a new signing that we desperately need and play him at 80% fitness, see him pick up an injury, and miss 2-3 months. Glad you aren't the manager !!

Or a back 3 with Johnson at right centre back and Bowery at right wing back. I think it will probably be reasonably fluid again with several changes in formation during the game. I’m pretty sure Kilgore will get onto the pitch at some point.

If it is a back 3/5 it probably means only Oates up front.

Let’s face it, Bowery could be centre backs, right wing back, right wing or striker with that line up.

Clough did say Kilgour has not played for two months and therefore is not match fit. Imagine if he did start and made mistakes, this place would be unbearable. Strange one about Lapslie, if he is at Gillingham game, that is disappointing without any official announcement.

As Akins is injured I’m happy with Bowery playing alongside or slightly behind Oates. I don’t think Oates and Swan is the right combination.

NC said in the interview that Kilgour might not be quite ready.

I’d have put Gordon in front of Johnson, rather than playing Wallace.

Exactly that , the fitness coach and staff will have assessed him and throwing him straight in benefits nobody.. perch was ok last week so let’s just see how we go.

Really pleased we've reverted to 442 diamond. Still not sure about Wallace but he has another chance today to prove a lot of us wrong.

Good attacking from the Stags.

Wallace heads forwards. Maris to beaten and his cross is behind for a corner.

Corner shirt to Wallace he crosses/shoots towards goal and its dealt with.

Perch tried to clear the ball but misses completely. Crewe cross in and Johnson seems to clear but against a Crewe man and its behind for a goal kick. Johnson read that well to realise their lad was in the middle unmarked.

Boeteng does well to win the ball in the crewe half and plays a ball forwards to Oates Boeteng was fouled ref played advantage and Oates tried to take on too many defenders and was crowded out.

Johnson down the right, takes on a player and is blocked off. Ref says no foul. Crewe goal kick.
