Page’s contract ran out before the window started I think.

Losing Hartigan is true but he’s still a member of the squad whose wages were still paying, hefty ones on suspect at that.

We have 23 outfield players who’ve played league minutes now this season. Expecting many more is probably not very realistic.

The new signings suggest a better structure to the squad, but it's still net zero numbers wise. We are still over exposed to injuries & suspensions.

How is it net zero numbers wise? We’ve gained four players and lost two.

Lost one for the season at the start of the window. Sold 2.
Signed 3.

Until DJ kicks a ball i an amber shirt he doesn't exist as far as this season goes.

Effective change to squad size. Zero.

So how many new players would you like to come in Sneag? And would you let any go out?

Clough said 3 maybe 4 (probably DJ dependent) in with Laws and Caine going out on loan.

Wouldn't surprise me to see O'Toole or Bowery go out, wait and see.

I can’t see Gale going anywhere while he’s injured.

He may go to the conference or lower in March onwards but can’t see anything before then.

Sadly don't think it's going to happen. Clough seems dead set on his squad size

So this board had gone into meltdown for four months outside of the transfer window cos we need a centre half and now we need 7 players. Jeez have we turned into the Man City overnight?

2x CB and a LB for me.

We've signed 1 CB so far.

In an ideal world I'd prefer selling JJOT and Bowery. Bowery barely selected up front and played backup LWB. So I'd propose signing a CB to replace JJOT and actually compete for a place and a LB/LWB for Bowery. Provide actual competition down that left side not just a poor stop gap. DJ stays to replace bowery.

That's ideal world though. Cant see it happening to be honest in the Jan window.

Will run too the wire then we will trot the same excuse out about deals falling through at the last min … we’ve got some very tough games coming up the squad needs a couple more adding at least . All the momentum the club has created in numbers coming through the turnstiles is in danger of shooting itself in the foot ‘ we must stay competitive.

Hmm. I shouldn’t be that fussed because he doesn’t save much at all does he, but Flinders is probably worse.

It will be nice for us to get rid of Pym this summer and spend his high wage on a better, cheaper and normal sized keeper as well as a good outfielder.

What is a normal sized Keeper ?...height and agility do not necessarily go hand in hand

What excuses?

He's already said it will be quiet unless there's any unforeseen outs or a wildcard becomes available.

Howkins and Lapslie = Loss of Goals, not been replaced

DJ was happy at Walsall and wants a move there in the window preferably or at the end of season

Right then, we’re somehow in a playoff position and will be on deadline day. Who/what type of player(s) do people think we need to bring in?

Personally, I’d sell Johnson to the highest bidder (I just can’t see Clough starting him much if at all) and with the aid of DJ’s transfer fee + wages off the books, I’d bring in a left back and left sided centre back. I feel like they’re both musts if we’re to finish in the top 7. If not both, then sign someone who can play both LCB and left back (although this would be hard to find). We’ve signed a right back and swapped Hawkins for Kilgour, we still need more reinforcements at the back, especially if we’re going to keep playing five at the back.

I’d also argue that we still need to bring in an attacking midfield type player to replace Lapslie. Reed is essentially a Hartigan replacement now that he’s out for the season. Bringing in a CB, LB and attacking midfielder may be one more than we can afford, but could be feesible if we sell Johnson.

I’ve noticed that Diallang Jaiyesimi is still at Charlton and wasn’t in their matchday squad today. Got to wonder if Clough is interested in bringing him in, seen as though we were so close to getting him over the line at the end of the summer window.

I’d prefer to prioritise a centre back and maybe a left back first but by all accounts he’s a pacey, tricky player who can both play out wide and up front. Would be quite useful I think.
