After a wait of some 15 years the new Stadium for Hucknall Town Football Club becomes a reality on THURSDAY DECEMBER 8th 2022 and you are all invited to the opening party at Aerial Way, Hucknall, off Watnall Road and opposite the old ground on that evening.

The RM Stadium - the new home for the Yellows

With two excellent pitches to facilitate the First Team, Reserves and Sunday team and our 9 youth teams ranging from 6 - 17 year olds, this will be the start of a new era for the club.

The doors will open at 7pm sharp on Thursday 8th December and the beers and refreshments will be on tap in the brand new clubhouse. There will also be an opportunity to see the new stadium and pitch for the first time that night.

During the evening there will be an official opening ceremony by Mansfield Town Manager, Nigel Clough. Nigel will also give a short talk and take questions from the floor.

The first match for the first team will be on Saturday 10th December 2022 in a 3pm kick against Blackstones in the uhl United Counties League Division 1.

The facilities will provide an exceptional experience for both our own supporters and opposition supporters. With a clubhouse that can seat up to 340 people, the clubhouse can also be hired for weddings, parties and other functions. There is the facility to create either one large room or one large and one smaller room, both with bar access. Details and prices are available from the club.

This new state of the art facility is also an excellent opportunity for local businesses, with our tailored sponsorship packages. We can cater for all budgets and currently there is a very limited option to sponsor one of our stands too. Contact the club for more information, or come down on the night and chat to us about this.

Finally you can listen to our Chairman, Bob Scotney and Club Secretary, Phil Henry on the "In the Game" programme on BBC Radio Nottingham on Wednesday the 7th December between 6pm and 7pm discussing the move to our new facilities, amongst other things.

A very hectic period for many involved at the club and a lot of hard work put in by a lot of people making up the Management Committee of the club and it all comes to fruition on Thursday the 8th at 7pm, so please come and join in the celebrations ahead of our first match on the 10th December. Entry is free for everyone on the opening night.

I went along last night to have a look at the new ground. The function room was pretty full.

There is a covered stand on one side of the pitch which holds 240 spectators. There is just hard standing around the other 3 sides and which is flat with no steps.

They are moving a stand over from the old ground to go behind one goal but they need to get planning permission.

The capacity at present is just under 1700.

Nigel was late arriving. It was difficult to hear what he was saying as his microphone was not very good but was telling tales about his playing days. His father had opened the new stand at the old ground so it was appropriate that Nigel opened the new ground.

They had just opened it up for questions from the floor when I left.

I look forward to making a visit to a match at the new ground. There is a match scheduled against Grantham Town on Wednesday 18th January.
