No heard commentators acknowledge that Lee Gregory is a former Stag. Only played a couple of games in non league, but a former Stag all the same.

Unbelievable how much better we are than last week, a bit more pace in the side with Swan, Gordon and Harbottle has made a huge difference. Midfield trio of Maris, Boateng and Laps have been terrific.

It was coming. We've looked leggy for about 5 minutes.

We just wasted so many good chances, and despite being the best team throughout I always expected them to make us pay.

Another great chance goes away, no composure in the box.

Cos he's not a right back. However his attacking was good. Even got an assist.

Ended up listening to the Wednesday commentary team who were very complimentary about Stags. They said that we were one of the very few teams who had come and given Wednesday a fight and that we deserved at least the draw. If we had taken our chances in the first half they thought that we would have been out of sight. A huge step up from last week and hopefully a sign of more positivity to come

Composure in the box and we would have out of sight. Three chances in the second half and we put them all over the bar. Should have had 3 goals in the first half as well.

Overall a good effort. Wouldn’t say anyone played badly. A lot of good performers. First teams who came on injected that extra bit of quality, we switched off twice and they scored twice.

And like several others who put in a great shift today hewas obviously knackered.

Used our subs way too late again today.

An enjoyable day out overall, we played well and think we should have got something today. A proud performance but their quality off the bench plus us turning off twice didn't help. Feel like Maris should have scored at the end there where he blazed over but a respectable performance from everyone.

Great atmosphere from stags fans as usual and a good turn out.

Now let's see if we can actually perform like that in the league where it really matters.

Think Clough is good at setting teams up who are starting as the underdog, he’s done it for most of his career. The same type of style wouldn’t work in the league though.

Mansfield played really well and could easily have been 3-0 up at half time. We could have scored 4 goals in the first 6 minutes. Lapslie and Swann had great chances to shoot and then Lucas Akins missed another open goal as the ball bounced down off the bar. Akins and Boateng then shot wide from good positions. Kellan Gordon and Elliott were getting forward and putting the balls across the area. Stephen Quinn had a great chance to make it 2-0 after a great move but Cameron Dawson saved at the near post.

George Lapslie shot over the bar at the start of the 2nd half and George Maris could have equalised at the end.

We were undone by Wednesday bringing on Michael Smith and Barry Bannon and two great pieces of play down our right. It looked like they got behind Kellan Gordon for the 1st goal and Harbottle and Hawkins could have done better to get blocks in. For the 2nd goal, it looked like Kellan Gordon lost his man and then Lucas Akins could have stopped the cross and Elliott Hewitt did not pick up Smith.

I thought George Maris , George Lapslie and Stephen Quinn played really well and Kellan Gordon and Elliott Hewitt were very good going forward especially in.the 1st half. The whole team played well. James Perch looked very slow when he came on.

The performance up to the first Wednesday goal was the best since Hartlepool at home and we have failed to win both games.

Dean and I did, and even discussed his only Stags goal.

I reckon we could get to the by-line a million times and still never score from a cut back.
