Good to see him staying. Surely Nigel must see his potential to have offered a new contract.

He needs more minutes on the pitch and will hopefully get them here rather than going out on loan.

You would hope the club themselves would be tying up these kind of deals no matter who the manager was.

He will continue to get 10-20 mins until Oates returns. Then I think he will be sent on loan with a 24 hour loan recall until the end of the season, hopefully at a national league side.

Just a guess. Basically the same as knowles just minus the injury.

I hope you are wrong on this one Gazza as James Gale is twice the player Jimmy is.
I think he could break into the team and get a good run if given the chance/opportunity through an injury etc.

The problem is that that situation has already occured and he hasn't yet had his chance.

When has he had 10 - 20 minutes since Oates was out?
These are my opinions , if you don't like them I have others...

I'm yet to see what this lads about.

Clough reckons blooding a youngster is letting JJoT have 15 minutes at the end of the match.
You've got to go there and come back, to know where you've been.

James Gale signs a new contract

Postby Now in America » Sat Nov 19, 2022 1:59 am

Hi James we like what we see, work hard at it as you look to have a good chance.
You could not be in better care than with the current Mansfield set-up. All the best.

Is that including stoppage time in games?

20 minutes was a tad optimistic.

Still the point has been proven so far. Oates back in the squad and Gale is dropped.

No I don’t think it does. Using Martins match reports I believe an extra 19 mins including stoppage time, so 33 in total from 4 appearances.

James Gale

Salford (Away) - 89th minute sub
Derby (Home) (League Cup) - 87th minute sub
Orient (Away) - 85th minute sub
Stockport (Home) - 89th minute sub
Manchester City (Home) EFL Trophy - Started and played well
Grimsby (Away) EFL Trophy - Started. Struggled to win headers or hold the ball up in 1st half. Got bullied a bit by Grimsby's centre halfs.
Derby (Home) EFL Trophy - 67th minute sub
Barrow (Away) - 63rd minute sub
