It's grim up North!
There's been light rain and drizzle all morning.
The motorways are a bit nasty with loads of spray. Currently very busy where M1 and A1 join.
Safe journey and I'll see you there.

There was no pitch inspection, pitch is fine.

I’ve just had a text that Oates is in the squad. I don’t know where that information originated but it seems a bit too quick for me. If true I hope they don’t rush him back too early and make sure he’s fit and ready to play.

Be good news if true
I would have been a lot more worried if it was a Knee / Groin etc type of injury

That starting 11 is horrifically slow.

Not confident. Having Hawkins, Perch, Wallace, O’toole and Perch in the same time should be a crime.

That’s the least mobile starting eleven I’ve ever seen. Good god. There’s 6 or 7 players starting who can’t shift.

Look at the pace of those back 3. They make evolution look fast.

Glad JJ is back. Hopefully Bowery at wing back means he'll get forward a lot. Why Hewitt on the bench. He's been great. Hartigan needs a big game.

Oates to come and get the winner?

Come on you stags.

Why are Hewitt and Lapslie on the bench is what I want to know? We haven’t played in a week.

The bench is better than the 11

I think I've got more pace than most of that starting 11.

. is Hewitt doing on bench?

I’d say there’s 11 that aren’t even slightly quick

My view, when seeing it was that he won't come on other than a few minutes at the end and this is about getting him back of the swing of things.
Clough has done that before with new or returning players. Indeed the same could be said for Page today

Clearly setting up to get to 60mins at 0-0 and try and nick one late on from a set piece.

Lapslie was taken off last week with a hamstring twinge and was due a rest for the Rochdale game but had to cover for Swan.

Lapslie tweaked his hamstring at Rochdale, NC mentioned in his post match interview that he needed a rest.
