Stockport County 0 Bradford City 0
Attendance: 8,991 (1,450 Bradford Fans)

A very scrappy 1st half but Stockport did have 3 chances to score. New signing from Donny Rovers, right wing back Kyle Knoyle, fired wide at the far post from a cross from the left wing back Ryan Rydel. Kyle Wootton headed just wide from a Rydel cross and Ryan Croasdale shanked a shot wide from outside the area. Akil Wright played very well for Stockport on the right of a back three.

Stockport put some pressure on Bradford for 20 minutes in the 2nd half and won 6 corners. They nearly scored from one that was cleared back to Rydel. He crossed to the far post but Neil Byrne's header hit Bradford keeper Harry Lewis on the top of his head and went over the bar. Harry Lewis has been a good keeper for Bradford this season. He is the grandson of the former Stockport and Man City keeper Ken Mulhearn. Centre half Ryan Johnson also went close for Stockport with a couple of headers.

Mark Hughes responded to the pressure by bringing on Matt Derbyshire in the 63rd minute but there was no sign of top scorer Andy Cook until the 82nd minute. The Stockport commentators could not believe that Hughes waited so long before bringing on a player who had scored 16 goals this season especially as Vadaine Oliver was not getting much joy up front and looked tired. Something has clearly gone off between Cook and Hughes. I would not be surprised if he leaves during the transfer window. There are rumours. Bradford only had one shot on target when Hinchliffe easily saved Oliver's shot.

The Stockport sponsors gave MOM to Neil Byrne but I would have given it to Akil Wright or Ryan Rydel. Matty Platt and Romony Crichlow were fairly solid in defence for Bradford.

Said that about cook that he'll fall out with Hughes. He's not been starting games recently and Bradford fans are getting annoyed about it. Hopefully he goes before a week on sat :D

Bradford fans are starting to lose faith in Mark Hughes. There is a six page thread on their forum headed "Mark Hughes - Your football is raspberry". They expected to be in the top three.

Here is a post after last night

"Never thought I’d be saying this, but I’m starting to see a different side to Hughes from the nice and friendly older manager, speaking well and looking like he’s going to be a big asset to Bradford City. To now - mouthing off at the Stockport Fans, pushing opposing players, falling out with ours - Young, not playing ours - Cook, lying (saying Oliver’s better than Cook), constantly bringing boring gutless football game plans….. the list goes on. I think this is a man who is losing a grip of the playoffs and we’ll soon be mid table."

I'm also watching

Scunthorpe lead 1-0 at HT and playing much better than their league position suggests, perhaps buoyed by the club's takeover today.

FT Halifax 0-1 Scunthorpe
Fully deserved win, their first away win for more than a year. Halifax were pretty feeble.

I feel for the Scunny fans. They’ve been fed a poop sandwich and I hope they’ve turned the corner.

More dreadful defending from Hartlepool allows Dennis to head in unmarked. The Hartlepool defence and keeper have been abysmal.

FT Carlisle 3-1 Hartlepool
Hartlepool were absymal defensively, both the keeper and the defence, and created absolutely nothing going forward.
Carlisle weren't impressive and were gifted the win.
Menayese was stretchered off in stoppage time. Get well soon Rollin.

Wrexham v Sheff Utd is turning into a belter of a cup tie. Just struggling to figure out why Tom Kerridge is on co-commentary.

Wrexham look very, very good. I wouldn’t want to be in county’s position of having to keep pace with them. Mullin has been superb.

Super positive from Wrexham, giving it a right good go.
Even the last sub was a positive one, all credit to Parkinson.
