I'm clearly not quoting you, am I?

Perhaps take a look at the actual post next time. And lay off the sangria.

And you lay off the indignation and assumpions ok bud

Wasn't it you who (incorrectly) assumed I was quoting you?

So you tell all stags fans to keep off the sangria

Do you falsely accuse everyone of quoting them?

It really is embarrassing  Especially after moving a game to a Friday night and the fact that the middle of October at 3-5pm is hardly as dark as the arctic circle. They will lose more in gate money than they save imo. Lots of kids play football in the morning and lots work early Saturday. Moving fixtures about really puts people off bothering at all.

Agree with every word. So short sighted from the club.

What a daft decision. I really, really hope this doesn’t become the norm for our home games. It’s tinpot.

That should help

Can’t we just play the Derby game in the Premier League Kids cup in the pitch black and keep Walsall as a 3pm kick off?

Also, surely there’s got to be more proactive ways to this.

From what i recall each floodlight has 16 bulbs, if you remove 4 from each you’ve saved 25% instantly.

Or you kick of an hour earlier and save nearly 100%

In reality it’ll work for a small amount of games, which is better than none, but won’t work from november onwards

Once the clocks go back at the end of october the vast majority of games will need the floodlights on whether it’s 1 or 3 which will pretty much render the experiment pointless.

It’s not an hour though is it, I take it you do nothing Saturday mornings. I like many others take my lads to football with many 11am kick offs some later than that, that’s us not going if it’s a 1pm start and contributing to club coffers in terms of food and drink. The amount of less home fans and away fans compared to a 3pm start will hit the club more significantly in value than turning a few bulbs on at 3pm for an extra 2 hours. Simple as that

Carolyn shared on Instagram denying that we have done it to save money? (In so many words) can someone share on here?

Despite it saying so in the article on the club website. Bizarre.

Basically the plod are involved in the early kick off

If we were that bothered about saving costs we wouldn’t move a saturday game in the light to a friday night using the floodlights.

Let’s cut to the chase.

But then there are others like me who have other commitments on Saturday evenings and have to miss quite a few 3pm matches, but will now be able to make this match at 1pm, so there will be gains as well as losses.

That’s one gain compared to 500 losses, being brutally honest. I literally don’t know anyone who has a regular commitment every Saturday evening. Trying to spin an earlier kick off time as a good thing is a real non starter sorry mate
