Bear it’s never been a secret on here or in the press. The bit that is the secret is who Wilfred actually is. And I always thought you ripped the veil not broke it.
But if you thought you were protecting the gentleman’s secret, that’s really honourable.

Think the cost cutting has started early, we had the floodlights turned off on us mid game on the 3G pitches tonight

That writer should write for the Chad, says twice in the opening lines our match with Swindon is kicking off at 1pm then goes on to say Walsall a but further down.

Perhaps the Swindon game on 29th Oct is also kicking off at 1pm and the club have only told the Daily Mail yet.
Those accustomed to privilege may feel that equality is oppression.

it’s already been widely assumed that our reasons for moving it had nothing to do with energy saving and that it was a load of gooseberry and bull, especially with tomorrow nights match needlessly being moved to a friday night when floodlights are needed when the odds are they wouldn’t have been needed on saturday.
If there’s such an issue, get the league to lower the brightness level slightly, appreciate it sounds ridicous but if we took 4 bulbs out of each floodlight it’d still be perfectly playable while in effect saving 1/4 of the bill.

I think his 12:15 and 13:00 hour kick off argument is flawed. These games would have had either the same gate or more for a 15:00 kickoff as they used to be local derbies switched by the police. The MBoro Cup game was a good attendance as it was a lucrative tie against a big team who filled the away end. If we had played Crawley at 12:15 it would have been a different matter. Need to compare apples with apples although Sharpe's comment regarding monitoring social media is positive. I think common sense will prevail.

I've a feeling they'll go through with the change. Many of my workmates will see their chance of attending home games slashed from 20+ to about 5, simply because no shifts on a Sat end before 1pm whereas between 12-14 finish before 3pm.

Whatever the most cost effective solution is, will be the one the club choose to go with. With so many season ticket holders, the club have their money whether they attend or not. It’s all down to away fans, our ‘day out’ fans and the purchase of food and drink against the energy costs. Let the battle begin.

A bit of an irony we move the Walsall game to 1pm and move the Hartlepool game to Friday night under the lights - apologies if this has already been said, haven't read all the thread.

Just had a look at this weekends efl fixtures apart from us only 3 other early starts, all big local Derby’s with larger police presence, you can justify the start time . Why are we still going down this early kick off it’s Walsall! no other club struggling re lights! I can’t miss my other lads games on a Saturday and it’s an 11am kick off 30mins from field mill. That’s 4 of us not going Saturday even though ST holders

Don’t worry the attendance will still show that you were there
I agree though, and I think plenty will be in the same boat.

Your right mate re attendance, but it will show through spending on match day by fans. Sooner this gets knocked on the head the better and everyone comes to their senses
