I'm predicting Stags will need 73 points to finish in the TOP 7 (PLAY-OFFS).

Current Table
PLD...W...D...L...PTS...PPG
.27...12...6...9....42....1.55

Required for 73 points
PLD...W...D...L...PTS...PPG
.19...10..1...8.....31...1.63
.19....9...4...6.....31...1.63
.19....8...7...4.....31...1.63
.19....7..10..2.....31...1.63

Stags current PPG 1.55 would total 72 points over a season.

On course to finish about 7/8th.

First home game I've enjoyed for 3 months.

Glad to see Akins get MOTM, we really needed that 3rd goal.

Next stop, Bradford.

.18....7...9...2.....30...1.67

Stags current PPG 1.54 would total 71 points over a season.

On course to finish about 8th.

Stags shown an impressive desire at Bradford and also played with a good tempo.

I'm predicting Stags will need 73 points to finish in the TOP 7 (PLAY-OFFS).

Current Table
PLD...W...D...L...PTS...PPG
.29...13...7...9....46....1.59

Required for 73 points
PLD...W...D...L...PTS...PPG
.17....9...0...8.....27...1.59
.17....8...3...6.....27...1.59
.17....7...6...4.....27...1.59
.17....6...9...2.....27...1.59

Stags current PPG 1.59 would total 73 points over a season.

On course to finish in the PLAY-OFFS.

Very good performance from Stags yesterday.

Really tough next 7 games.
5 games versus teams in the top 7.
5 games are AWAY.

Last 10 games appear an easier run-in.
8 games versus teams in the bottom half.
6 games at HOME.

If Stags can get through the next 7 games and be in a similar league position (5/6 points behind 3rd) then Stags would have a favourable run-in for the last 10 games, starting with 3 homes games v Grimsby, Sutton & Crawley.

Forget statistics. If we carry on playing like we did yesterday we will make the play offs. If we can improve our attacking play we could sneak third. However I think Orient, Stevenage and Stockport will be the automatic three.

It’s currently all up for grabs. IF we can beat Carlisle and other results go our way we could be three points behind third with a game in hand. If we lose we are nine adrift and it starts to look quite difficult. Big game on Tuesday.

Current Table

.30...14...7...9....49....1.63

Required for 73 points
PLD...W...D...L...PTS...PPG

.16....7...3...6.....24...1.50
.16....6...6...4.....24...1.50
.16....5...9...2.....24...1.50

Stags current PPG 1.63 would total 75 points over a season.

On course to finish in the PLAY-OFFS.

Excellent performance from Stags yesterday, hitting some form just at the right time.

Stags are 2nd top scorers, with only Carlisle scoring just 1 more goal.

Really tough next 6 games.
4 games versus teams in the top 7.
4 games are AWAY.

Last 10 games appear an easier run-in.
8 games versus teams in the bottom half.
6 games at HOME.

Another couple of wins and you will have to change the thread title again.

Yes, I thought about that, but then worked out Stags would need to win the next 3 games to get back on track for a top 3 finish (estimated 81 points).

Lets hope I'm changing the title thread soon :D

Top of the league over the last six games. We’ve taken 8 points of Stevenage in the last four games.

Project promotion is go.

Next 5 games I bet each team won’t be relishing facing MTFC added bonus if we win as It’s taking points off our rivals for automatic. Not saying it will be easy but 3 points per match and other teams losing ground ….well…..fortune favours the brave, and we certainly are showing we are brave

The last ten games includes Sutton and Harrogate at home and Swindon away so that's three guaranteed defeats

If Nigel Clough can guide the Stags to a win at Swindon then he really is a football genius. I've loved the wins at Oldham, Rochdale, Gillingham, Carlisle and Tranmere.

Wins at Crewe and Doncaster weren’t bad as well. ;)

It’s fine margins with whoever you play.

Not too much between any side in the league on their day and I think it’s more about confidence/momentum/mentality.

If things click you go on a run like Orient, and Stevenage did. Like Bristol Rovers did at the right time at the end of the season.

We seem to be hitting that point at the right time.

Northampton have an easier Next 4 games on paper but tough games in March/April

Next 4 matches

Colchester/Harrogate/Crawley/Hartlepool

Rest of March/April (some will of the highlighted tricky games)

Mansfield/Doncaster/Stevenage/Gillingham/Carlisle/Sutton/Bradford

Carlisle

In March 4 out of 5 games are

Swindon (Away)
Stevenage (Home)
Bradford (Away)
Gillingham (Away)
First game in April Orient away

Stags
Tough next 5 games.
4 games versus teams in the top 7.
3 games are AWAY.

Last 10 games appear an easier run-in.
8 games versus teams in the bottom half.
6 games at HOME.

Simple focus though - Clough is clearly taking it one game at a time. ‘ 15 games to go etc’.

Exciting times

After 31 games last season we beat Bradford away 2 nil. We were on a longish unbeaten run. This season P31 W15 D7 L9 Pts 52. Last season 1 point better off. P31 W15 D8 L8 Pts 53. Both seasons we are/were in striking distance of 2nd with top of the league a long way clear. Similarities in that 8th were also close enough for concern. Fixture run in seems easier this season compared to last season though.

Now the Stags are on 52 points the business end of the season starts at the moment im on a high.
Back to basics dont get to high or to low, Northampton lost to Grimsby and Bradford lost to Barrow both at home.
So there are many twist and turns to come.
Lets hope the injuries improve and with 4 points clear of the chasing pack, what ever happens on Sat we will still be in the play offs.
Top 3 to early to call

Cough will want 10 more wins.

They're most likely to come from

Salford H
Wimbledon A
Orient H
Grimsby H
Sutton H
Crawley H
Rochdale H
Newport A
Harrogate H
Colchester A
You've got to go there and come back, to know where you've been.

Can’t see us losing all them five.

We can't possibly be as bad against Harrogate as we were earlier in the season! We're well overdue beating them and Sutton, our record against both is pretty unbelievable.
