Lets be honest the table doesnt lie ,we aint gonna get enough points in the last twenty games to bother the top three ,we might make the play offs then blow them as well

Only 7 points behind and Northampton are on as bad a run as we are.
I feel optimistic as the areas some of us identified in August have been addressed. I agree it won’t be easy but a few wins to build confidence will make all of the difference. The chasing pack are nowhere near the quality of the top two and it’s still all to play for.

Evans getting another team promoted while he didn’t do so with us.
Sometimes i begin to wonder if the problem is us, whether we’re cursed or something.
Little chance this side will go up to date unless something magical happens.

Evans would have got us promoted I feel sure. With the new signings we can certainly make the playoffs.Top three will be harder but you never know.

Replace Evans with Clough and that could just be a normal comment here

Is there a reason why Broomo has stopped his comparison with last season ?
Just asking politely.

If Evans had completed two or three years with us then theres no way we would have been in league two all these years. He is a superb manager for this level whether people like it or not.
Does he sign a lot of players? Yes, but who honestly cares if the chairman is willing to allow it?
He is the best manager in the league.

We are five points behind last season, if we had beaten Barrow and Crewe we would have been on same points after the eight game winning run of last season.

One - I was often told to change the record.
Two - others are doing it instead.
Three - and the biggest reason I've cut down on posting overall. I'm tired of the hounding.
Four- we are behind where we were and it's not positive. I prefer to be positive.
Politely.

Some of us value your posts. Please keep posting Broomo, you have as much right as everybody else and post some good positive stuff. It’s also nice when you feed us with a little transfer information. I certainly appreciate it and know you can’t say too much for obvious reasons

Any insider view on Cloughs opinion on Johnson? Or os he pushing for someone new to come in?

League 2 is poor this season, in my opinion. It is wide open for 3rd to 7th. I think Stockport will finish top 4 and get promoted after a very poor start. We will probably finish 7th to 10th.
First match : 04.01.1975 home v Cambridge Utd F.A.Cup 3rd Round 1-0 Clarke

Didn't the 8 game winning streak ended in a draw followed by a couple more wins. The championship form fizzled out around game 30.
We need a very strong finish to finish top 7 & a Coxesque last 20 games to hit the top 3.
Facts do not cease to exist because they are ignored.

I think the more honest thing to do is if you’re going to do it, then you should carry on doing it. Posting it to make a point that stops being a point when results turn worse is disingenuous. And hounding ? Really ? The thing, is when you’re so strident at dismissing the opinion of others, it tends to come back to bite. I know that.

Mansfield are a top 10 team and are quite capable of top 7 finish and the play offs brings a 2 match cup fever with additional income and t-v exposure.
2023 is a big year for Mansfield a established league club with a good fan base do they stick or twist.
With Hawkins and Lapslie gone showing money talks, i hope Johnson leaves and we splash some cash on a top striker who wants to be at the club and break the clubs transfer record.
Armstrong from Harrogate type.
Bowery and Akins , Oates not physical enough and get bullied and Swan is no centre forward.
Lets reach 50 points and see where we go from there.

The next 3 games will be pretty big
Doncaster home
bradford away
gillingham home
Doncaster will be the latest team to move above us with a win, hopefully time for us to actually produce at home for once.
Bradford away - in the last playoff spot as it stands
Gillingham - 3 weeks ago you’d have been looking at this and licking your lips, all of a sudden they’ve got some decent players and on good form.
We’ve then carlisle and tranmere away before salford at home.
We’ve burned through the “easier” games and now have a tough month - hopefully time for clough to start earning his keep this season

Swan is doing ok and I’m sure has 8 league goals. Oates doesn’t get bullied at all imo.

I'm predicting Stags will need 73 points to finish in the TOP 7 (PLAY-OFFS).
Current Table
PLD...W...D...L...PTS...PPG
.26...11...6...9....39....1.50
Required for 73 points
PLD...W...D...L...PTS...PPG
.20...11..1...8.....34...1.70
.20...10..4...6.....34...1.70
.20....9...7...4.....34...1.70
.20....8..10..2.....34...1.70
Stags current PPG 1.50 would total 69 points over a season.
On course to finish about 10th.
The Crewe game was so disappointing it's taken me 10 days to update this thread!!!
So far,
First 13 games CHAMPIONS form, PPG 2.0
Last 13 games RELEGATION form, PPG 1.0
The next 9 games look a lot tougher than the last 9 games, need to turnaround the poor form (last 3 months!!!) ASAP.
Champions 1974-75, 1976-77, 2012-13
Freight Rover Trophy Winners 1986-87

We need to go for it this season, looking at the potential teams next season is scary. Why does Clough not realise this?
