Thanks.

Had a little read. Quite the journey.

He represented Dominica playing up front with Richard Paquette. That's another blast from the past.

Nathan Arnold has been appointed as Cleethorpes Town manager (Step 4). He was previously manager of Newark Town who he guided to promotion last season from the Central Midlands League (Step 7). He then joined Newark and Sherwood United (Step 4) who are currently 5th in the United Counties Premier. North.

Nathan has strong connections to the area as he played for Grimsby Town and scored in the 2016 National League Play Off Final against FGR when they won promotion back to the EFL.

Alex Fisher scored twice for Yeovil on Saturday against Gateshead and then won a penalty for his hat trick which he then blazed over the bar!

On 1st October I went to see Neal Bishop’s Gainsborough Trinity (Step 3) play Worksop Town (Step 4) in the FA Cup 3rd Qualifying Rd. The Holy Blues had Clayton Donaldson (38) (Brentford, Birmingham City) up front. Worksop must be paying big money this season as they included lots of former League 2 and National League players including Doncaster Rovers legend Paul Green (39), Bradford City’s James Hanson (34), Liam Hughes (30) (Cambridge United and Barrow), Terry Hawkridge (32) (Scunthorpe, Notts County and Lincoln), Hamza Bencherif (Notts County, Lincoln) and Sam Wedgebury (33) (Macclesfield and FGR). Terry Hawkridge and Sam Wedgebury both played on loan for the Stags. Worksop won the game 1-0 with a counter attack from a Gainsborough corner where Jay Rollins crossed from the right for Paul Green to score with a header. Paul Green has since retired to be Donny Rovers’ full time 1st team transition coach.

On Saturday, Neal Bishop’s Gainsborough beat FC United 3-1 away to go top of the Northern Premier League with young Stag Cody Collins playing at centre half. They had previously drawn 1-1 away with Richie Sutton’s Nantwich Town. They have played a couple more games than the other teams and four more than South Shields.

Worksop Town are 2nd in NPL East with two games in hand over leaders Stockton Town. Nathan Arnold's Cleethorpes are 3rd.

Nathan Bishop saved two penalties to help United u21 win tonight. Give this a read it completely undermines the reason why these teams are in this competition.

Colin Daniel is also playing for Fleetwood in the same match. Another local interest is Haydn Hollis who was born locally at Jacksdale I think.

Sorry I meant Danny Andrew. Not sure how I managed to mix them up, must have been a senior moment.

An excellent FA Cup 3rd Rd for current and former Stags.

Jamie Reid and Danny Rose knock out Aston Villa away with Jamie Reid scoring a penalty.

CJ Hamilton scores for Blackpool as they beat Forest 4-1.

Tom Naylor scores for Wigan in a 1-1 draw at Luton and has another goal disallowed at the end.

Danny Johnson scores a very good goal for Walsall away at Stockport.
