Aren’t they in a final next week at Retford too?

Oh dear

I’m pretty sure they’ve won the league already though so maybe that’s what we can expect from Orients keeper tonight!

I suppose he is a former stag but

Grantham Town's Chairman Andy Saunders has decided to leave the club after what can only be described as a difficult season with back to back relegations only just avoided.

I wonder if he will go back to AFC Mansfield

I doubt it. He was funding that club an awful lot to keep them going.

Local gossip is that Andy was the front man and the money was coming from the mother of th manager who owns a load of care homes.
Grantham have been a bit of basket case for a few years which was summed up by having to postpone three or four games due to pitch damage by crows eating grubs.

Went to Alfreton and saw Krystian Pearce and Ashley Hemmings for Kidderminster Harriers beat Matt Rhead's Alfreton Town 1-0. In the play offs. Amari Morgan Smith scored early on for Kiddy who now play King's Lynn away on Sunday

Had a good chat with Paul Cox who was looking well.

Krystian Pearce was voted Supporters and Players Player of the Season at Kidderminster Harriers.

Never really understood why he dropped from League 2 to National League North via Solihull Moors and Boreham Wood. He was better than that.

He wasn’t at his best, but in the four seasons before that he was excellent.

He definitely was not a liability, his years at the stags were great apart from his last one. He should have had a promotion with us

National League North Play Offs
FT: Brackley Town 2 Gloucester City 2 (HT: 0-0)

Brackley won 5-3 on penalties.

A new ground for me. Matt Preston and Theo Robinson were playing for Brackley. I had a quick chat to Adi Yussuf before the game who said he had not played much this season. He signed for Brackley from Gateshead in December.

I also had a nice chat about the Stags with Graham Coughlan and Joe Dunne. They might have come to watch some of the Gloucester players such as as Sion Spence and Kieran Phillips (not Huddersfield player) who started off at Bristol Rovers. We talked about the players they signed for Mansfield such as Stephen McLaughlin, Ollie Clarke George Maris, Jordan Bowery, James Perch and George Lapslie who have all neen very good signings for the Stags. Graham Coughlan also had Alfie Kilgour at Bristol Rovers and said he was a good lad and would be a very good signing for Mansfield. He put his hand up jokingly and admitted he got it wrong signing Rollin Menayese but he had been a good player for Rovers. He also laughed and said he signed Jordan Bowery to hold the ball up up front and not play left back! He also said that knowing James Perch he thought Perchy would be looking to get another contract and carry on playing.

He said he liked Andy Cook as a player but the main problem was getting him fit. He said he was very much a confidence player.

He said League 2 could be very tough next season with lots of teams with big budgets such as Wrexham, Gillingham, Stockport, Salford, Bradford City, Colchester United, Mansfield Town, Notts County? etc. He thought Newport would do well to finish top half with their budget.

Joe and him said they thought Stockport were the best team in League 2 this season and they were very organised. I said I had watched Stockport draw 0-0 four times on iFollow this season and I thought Salford were better. Joe got my hopes up at half time by telling me Crewe were beating Bradford 2-0.

Sion Spence put the ball across the box and Kieran Phillips tapped it in to give Steve King's Gloucester the lead in the 2nd half. Theo Robinson then equalised for Brackley with a glancing header from a cross from the left.

The tricky Cosmos Matwasa gave Brackley the lead in the 80th minute with a shot from the edge of the area and Sion Spence then scored a 99th minute last minute equaliser for Gloucester. Extra time was a bit of a non-event as usual but Brackley won the penalty shoot out shooting towards the home fans who were all jumping around behind the goal with their camera torches switched on when Gloucester took their penalties. I saw Brackley win the FA Trophy Final on penalties against Bromley in 2018 so I must be a good luck charm.

Steve King lost in the Play Offs with Dartford last season. Brackley sacked Kevin Wilkin and Roger Johnson as managers this season and veteran centre half Gaz Dean is the caretaker manager. James Armson is also still playing for them.
