Wow when you look at that it shows how unlucky we’ve been not to get more points. Near the top for all the attacking and defending stats there.

The team are really playing well, although we have made mistakes and had a couple of poor spells in games that have cost us points.I think these stats pretty much reflect that.

Which just shows what bull they are because we have gotten exactly what we’ve deserved.

People hate this stat but we’re miles ahead, shows we’re creating a hell of a lot of chances.

Last season after five games we had just 7pts, this season after 5 games we have 9 points.

When you compare last seasons points total against the same opponents

Last season we drew at Salford and Leyton Orient but this season lost so 2 pts down.
Last season we beat Tranmere at home and this season we beat them as well.
The six teams who are no longer in the division, last season at home we won three and drew three so we averaged 2 pts a game.
So AFC Wimbledon and Stockport last season would have generated an average of four points but this season these two teams gave us Six points, so we have clawed the two points back.

So after 5 games last season the opponents would have given us 9 points , the same as this season.

"Crawley Town have appointed football analytics expert Chris Galley as their new director of football. Galley recently worked at analytics firm StatsBomb, where he advised clubs on strategy and tactics. He spent a decade at Smartodds, run by Brentford owner Matthew Benham and also assisted with recruitment for the Premier League club. Galley has been an advisor for Crawley since their takeover by US cryptocurrency investors WAGMI United."

The only stat that matters is score more goals than the opposition in each game.

Noticed this on a web site

Who Has The Best xGA?

Mansfield Town FC has the best xGA (Expected Goals Against) in the EFL League Two with just 0.89 goals expected against them per game. Arguably, this stat could suggest they have the best defence in this competition.

Looks like we don’t need an extra centre half.

The XG stat is totally irrelevant in the actual game taking place, where it is relevant is in a comparison against other teams.

Yep it just shows whether you’re creating or conceding chances and how big those chances are. So us scoring highly is a very positive thing even if most people on here hate it.

It depends hoe you want to interpret the stats. If we are only expecting to concede less than a goal a game but concede 1.5 on average from less than 4 shots on target then there is a problem with our team defending/ style of play. You then use other analysis and also experience of the game to work out the problems and therefore a solution.
