Maybe that is how his assists have come about?

Interesting. Only one assist last season despite those stats. As I say, that’s not the be all and end all as he was part of a useless team. Depends on who’s on the end of the delivery I suppose.

He's 22.

He wasn't commenting on his age he was talking about how many midfielders we've signed :D

I’ve specifically asked about his set pieces and he replied with ‘Yea he's got very good delivery, ball striking in general excellent’. Happy now?

You should've been told about that in the first place if he's that good ;)

ha, thanks  Sounds to me like that was a bit of an omission from his original assessment.

On the face of it, this is an outstanding piece of business by the club which shows true ambition.

Forget about who else is or isn’t here and look at this acquisition in isolation. A young player who has already played in excess of 150 games at league 1 level who has attracted interest from at least 3 championship clubs. He was offered a new contract by his parent club, where he has been since he was 14 and which has just been relegated into our league. He turned them down to join us which couldn’t be an easy decision.

We’ve got him on a two year deal and he is the type of player who could develop and command a large fee in the future. I haven’t seen any report that says he is anything but a good player.

Well done MTFC and welcome to the club Anthony.

This is a Don’s fan view from another site.

Hartigan was at Wimbledon for years.. He's technically good.. He can pick a pass and he's decent at set pieces. He's not really an attacking or a defensive midfielder.. I'd say that he is a bit of a luxury player. No pace and doesn't score many. !! In saying that he had a good start to last season but faded. He may just need a change of scene . He's only 22 I think and played quite a lot of games in league 1. He's a decent signing for you.

Looks like a Chris Clements type player after reading this.

Bizarre signing. Unless it’s a replacement for Maris.
Doesn’t even sound like a ‘Clough type’.
I’m struggling to understand why we’re spending money on the midfield.
We need a flipping centre back. Doesn’t even need to be a world beater, just a steady, run of the mill league 2 centre back will do!

As I said in another thread, I’ve a feeling it may be Clarke.

You could be correct , I believe he is out of contract

Moaning already, just wait and see folks.

Centre back required a must, reliable striker required, we had one but he didn't click for whatever reason.

Anymore in means someone has to go out.

Out of contract when? At the end of the season? The majority of our players are.

he's not out of contract.

Clough clarified on Tuesday that everything's gone quiet in terms of outgoings

I’d rather have a decent striker come in, over a defender. I might be in the minority with this but we have cover in defence. A good finisher is much harder to get, but will be the difference between staying in league two or being promoted imo.

Agreed with the above,

we have Oates who is a bit hit and miss and does not get in the box enough.

Bowery who again is hit and miss, also might have to play in other positions.

Akins who hasn't showed he is capabale of scoring goals as of yet.

Swann who is unproven and who we can already see, goes missing in games.

Makes me wonder why we got rid of DJ without a replacement.
