Not a bad side. Akins at wing back isn’t a real surprise and I’m pleased to see Jordan up front with Oates to take some of the weight.

Just see if we have enough legs in midfield to create the chances. A big test for the system.

Think that is a fair call Sandy. I am glad he hasn't gone for wholesale changes as some would like. It isn't his style and isn't helpful

Broomo and/or bear said Akins is good at wing back and he didn't seem to do too badly last week. Personally would prefer Gordon there but I'm not against Akins playing there. Jury still out on Akins at RWB for me, gotta give him a decent chance at it.

Macca at LWB is a good sign. Would've preferred Hewitt at centre back but I've said Hawkins can be useful in the ctre to win headers. Rovers fans on their team selection tweet above predict a lot of long hoof ball so I'd expect Hawkins to play well.

I'd can see us winning this one. Or rather not losing it.

Early stags corner.

Maris takes it headed clear to Boeteng just outside the area but he shoots high and wide.

Stags attack. Defended well someone with a good tackle (couldn't see who) sends oates away down the left. Akins then has it on the left but a weak cross is easily cleared.

Boeteng on the right with a low hard pass to Quinn in space on the left. He finds Macca on the left wing. Back to Quinn whose cross is attacked by Akins and either Akins headed wide of a Tranmere hand touches it. Goal kick is the call.

Akins on the left has it but is forced back and passes to Hawkins just inside his own half and bring it into the Tranmere half and tries to chip if forwards for Oates who had made a run. But it is caught by the keeper.

Oates tries to find Akins but Tranmere collect. Good harrying from Akins wins possession. He plays it inside and we pass it around but can't fashion a chance

Boeteng dribbles past 3 players skilfully and gets into the area and plays it towards goal but keeper collects. Great skill from Boeteng.

Boeteng finds bowery on the right he knocks it past his man but his low cross is weak and dealt with by Tranmere.

Tranmere attacks and a ball over the top and hemming breaks free and onside. He chips a cross across and Hawkins heads clear and clashed heads with the Tranmere player. Hawkins down for a good few minutes. Back up now.
