Tranmere very poor. Maris and Boateng controlled the game. To be fair to Akins had a good second half but can't be our starting striker if we want to be up there. In total command and one slip from Macca and they should have scored. We don't look like a side who will kill poor opposition off which will cost us points.

A good win after a slow start.

In my view we've got a very good midfielder in Boateng and a very good keeper in Pym - two brilliant saves and good distribution.

I also don't know why Bowery was RWB and Akins CF. A simple switch would have benefited both of them.

I think we'll have to get better than what we saw today and we still won at a canter.

A solid if not spectacular performance.

Just about deserved the 3 points but need to be more clinical in front of the goal.

Defence looked better and Hawkins had a reasonably good game apart from a few mistakes and the formation change seems to have suited him. Another yellow card however and Quinn also showed his petulance once more.

Pym showed his class and I feel very confident with him between the sticks.

This will bring more confidence and that will improve performance. Well done to all.

I thought Akins did well up front. I thought he had a better game than Oates.

Akins did very well in the last 20 when we needed someone to hold the ball up.

He was being fouled a hell of a lot & gotbugger all from the ref. Thought he'd nicked a clincher there at the death too.

My thoughts on Akins were that he was better than usual but still frustrating as hell. Nearly scored a cracking goal though to be fair.

We deserved to win. Some good performances today. Boateng, no words needed.
Pym and Hawkins played well. I thought Akins was excellent.
Laps and Clarke did well when they came on. Maris, Quinn and Oats were a tad disappointed. A great result and we will get stronger.

My first time seeing the new players and was impressed with all of them, including Swan when he came on.

In Maris, Quinn and Boateng I would go as far as to say we have the best midfield in the division, I thought they were magnificent.

Hawkins was superb in defence and got himself in the right place at the right time on several occasions.

Bowery had a very good game a RWB with the exception of the horror back pass.

I thought Harbottle had a good game and mostly looked very assured.

Oates wasn’t quite at it and I don’t think Akins was any better or worse than I’ve seen him previously, a few heavy touches and loss of possession mixed with some decent hold up play and a very fine effort on goal at the end of the game. personally prefer Bowery up front and I think Oates plays better with Jordan alongside him.

Overall a thoroughly deserved three points and a note on Tranmere who in the closing stages looked like they were all completely shattered.

It wasn’t a needless booking, they were on the counter with two of our defenders out of the game. He had no choice.
