Harsh on Bowery as I think he can be affective at Wing back but going with the ''defenders'' at wing back for the 1st game.

If Quinn is injured then Lapslie to come in for him, if Lapslie still isn't fit then Clarke.

I think Akins will be at RWB and Bowery up front with Oates. Gordon on bench.

I think Clough will pick Gordon to try and keep up with Asante’s pace but that’s just a guess.

Oates to score 2 goals is bet of the weekend tomorrow. Big win to set us off, plenty of beer to be drank among the Stags family. Sadly this will impact the Beermens performance in the tournament Sunday but it is what it is.

I think due to lack of fitness and availability of other defenders, but him wanting to play a back 3, he will pick;

………………………….Pym……………………..

…….…Harbottle O’toole Macca………..

Gordon ……….Maris…………….Bowery

…………..Boateng ……Quinn………….

…………….Oates……..Akins…………

Law at LWB would be a better option than a right footed forward. That's just my opinion though.

That team wouldn’t be my pick personally, just what I think he will do

I don't know why we would play players out of position, just to use the new formation.

Better for me would be:

Gordon O'Toole Harbottle Macca

Akins Maris Boateng Quinn

Oates Swan (maybe Bowery)

Thing is you've now got Gordon out of position at RB ;)

Have you mentioned that before?

Hewitt then instead, maybe that's a better option in that formation.

I actually think he might play 4 - 5 - 1 and set up for a potential draw or close win, with Oates on his own.

Mentioned it once or twice :D

Hewitt or perch at RB for me. With 5 subs they can do 45 minutes each if they're not quite "there".

The realism is Wallace is out for quite some time..Hawkins suspended..Also doubtful and perhaps not fully match fit due to a shortened pre season are...Perch, Law, Lapslie ,Quinn , that's possibly 6 players either not available or fully match fit and carrying an injury...and the Season is just about to start. at best a draw or losing 2-0.

Let’s see where we are after 8-10 games one things for sure we can’t afford the poor start of last season if we have any aspirations of worrying the top 3

This will be a very tough game to get even a draw from.

The fans will get right behind the team and can hopefully inspire a battling performance. If Boateng can give a performance we could just Nick it as long as the defence don’t make any silly mistakes. I’m hoping for a win but predicting a draw or single goal loss.

Need to be strong from set pieces today.

Every chance they get they’re gonna hang the ball up into the 6 yard box knowing that we’ve not got Hawkins to challenge big Matt Smith in the air and that Pym’s probably not big enough to come out for it.

He's been suspended since getting sent off in the play offs.

There was a notion that because the play offs are technically a separate competition he wouldn't be suspended (confusion arose due to the rule change on suspensions being competition specific.)

Play offs are an offshoot of off the league competition so are both a separate entity and the same entity. Suspensions also can carry over into the next season. They always have done.

Some may say its unfair but I think the opposite, its totally fair that a player gets a suspension they should fulfil it.

Be great to start the season with a win. I'm in the N.Yorks Moors with the bike today but will be there next week for sure.
