Danny Johnson, never mind him. I'm still having nightmares about Danny Reet.

We don't seem to have much luck with players named Danny.

It's early and been up half the night with the young un. Who is poorly.

But all I can think of as the best Danny is Danny Rose, and even he seemed to split the Fan base.

Meanwhile Cook scores again. That's 26 for him now. Couldn't we have accommodated him somehow? Guaranteed goals throughout his career.

Seen a few people on the Facebook group say DJ ripped his bib off and shouted roll on the summer today. Any ideas if this is true?

I didn't see it. He seemed quite happy signing autographs for kids at the end of the game.

We were watching him, he did not go onto the pitch with his team mates but signed autographs and had selfies with young fans by the dugout. He was really smiley with them and then walked off calmly along the edge of the pitch. I did not see any of the pitch things described on Facebook but was not watching him as he got to the tunnel

I would have brought on Gale for the last twenty to maintain the pressure on their defence and to keep the pace high

I think he was waiting for Akins or Oates to score to get them a bit of confidence before he brought them off. ;)

I think resting Oates for the last 15 - 20 woukd hace been sensible.

As to whom I would have brought on, maybe Gale as he has a future at the club.

You can see the thinking behind leaving Oates on, more minutes in the tank and an opportunity to get back on the scoresheet, which he should have done yesterday.

You could argue that DJ is starting to need more time on the pitch. Clear message here .

We need to get Akins Oates and DKD in the team up front imo. They were great yesterday and linked up well. Johnson is only gonna be used if there's a forced sub through injury or if we need a goal in the last 15 minutes

Yes those three looked very good. Johnson won't even get in the squad when players come back, he adds absolutely nothing.

I think that’s a tad unfair Rob. He’s quite good at niggling the opposition and getting them booked.

I can see where Clough is coming from.

I suppose its a bit like Mal Benning a couple of seasons ago. We were safe, no danger of relegation and slim/no chance of play offs. DJ made it clear he's not signing for anyone for next season and so Clough wants to use him as little as possible.

Not to say DJ isn't a good player, but the closer to the end of the season we get the less DJ would likely want to risk injury.

I think the principle difference being is that Mal would still have played for the shirt.

DJ hasn’t impressed me in any game he’s played in. Doesn’t suit us at all.

I don't get what he was doing differently at Walsall.
