How much did we pay for him?

Your the one in the know apparently :D

And im not having a dig ,but i bet he dont play many games here ,or score many goals ,or if he moves it will be undisclosed,
Wouldn't it be something if he did stay, was a permanent fixture in the side and scored a dozen goals.

It would be andy and i would love it to happen but i cant honestly see it

Post on League 2 Forum yesterday by a Hartlepool fan who I would have thought would have been an ideal club for Danny Johnson location wise. Probably saving them for the end of his career.

"Apparently we had a bid accepted from Mansfield for Danny Johnson & we offered him 50% more than what he's on at the Stags. Unfortunately he doesn't want to come with us being 3rd bottom."

Yeah, said forum also rumoured him to be a right pain in the behind according to some Dundee sources. If he is going to cause any kind of grief let him rot till the end of his contract. Not playing will take the edge off his match sharpness, and what do we care if we aint getting anything for him.

It would appear DJ doesn't want to be involved in a relegation battle (unlike Hawkins and Lapslie).

It seems dj is doing the sensible thing and looking after his own interests, lets face it at hartlepools in a poor team hes not gonna score many ,with us if he plays games and scores goals he will get himself a better signing on fee at his next club cant fault him

I'd rather have a player who rolls his sleeves up in adversity. I'm not saying DJ wouldn't, but it makes me think that may be part of the problem.

Id rather have a player who gets the goals so we don't need to be in adversity in the first place.

It takes two to argue andy ,he may not be a grafter or a fighter but hes proven he knows how to score goals

Would have thought Walsall would have gambled with a big FA cup tie in the offing?

So would I. Just speculating why the move to Hartlepool isn't happening.
I would love it if he stayed and banged the goals in for us like he has for Walsall.

Still feel like someone is gonna bite the bullet and pay the fee we want for him and pay him silly wages too. Might be wrong and he ends up playing today, we’ll see in a couple of hours.

He’s said he only wants a 6 month deal so he leaves his options open in the summer. You can see why a club won’t want to pay a decent fee for that and then see him leave in a few months. From our side we don’t want to let a top scorer go for free especially if we paid some money for him.

I can see him staying here.

Hopefully today will signal whether he stays or goes.

DJ only wanting to sign for six months has certainly put a spanner in the works.

On balance if Walsall are the only club that want him, then I would rather we keep him. We don't want Walsall to "pick our pockets" and at the same time enhance their promotion chances. The only fly in the ointment is we could be using his wages on another player.

It is an intriguing situation.

And we could bring in a player who is here for the future and not just six months.

Maybe the player we want costs a fee and unless we receive what the club thinks is fair for DJ we can't sign him.

Hopefully the two clubs, DJ and his agent will sort some kind of compromise.

Maybe they're waiting on Walsall's result against Leicester today to see if they have some more money for us

We can’t sell him to anyone now he’s named in the line up. Well we can but they can’t play him.
