Nigel would be mad to go to Derby in the current circumstances. They could well be out of business before the season starts and he has good stable working relationships here.

Bloke in t'pub told me he'd seen a man with a dog outside Pride Park, swore it looked like Clough.

They have 5 players and are under a transfer embargo. It's a toxic place at the moment.
You've got to go there and come back, to know where you've been.

I doubt they'll go out of business, a company has bought the ground off Morris and are in negotiations to buy the club. I can't see Nigel going back there, but I'm a bit nervous as it's definitely a project at a very big club.

I would be surprised if he went there given the hassle but if he does he does.

I clearly don’t want him to go but when you do well you attract attention.

If this guy doesn’t pay the HMRC bill of £36m, the football club company will go bust.

If that happens I am not sure what the EFL will do, it’s not happened to an EFL club since new rules came out in 1986.

A new company will have to be set up which will be debt free. If it was a non league club the FA have rules that new company clubs have to start at least two levels lower but at least as low as Step 5 of non league like Macclesfield did.
Those accustomed to privilege may feel that equality is oppression.

Football as we know it died when sky and money took over.. the clubs were here for a hundred years yet over the last decade or so great historical clubs have fallen. The game was better when it was just that. A game and a wage for those who worked in it. I’m so glad that I’m a stags fan .

Maybe they should approach Darrell Clarke. He did a much better job at the end in extremely difficult circumstances. I'll get my tin hat.

What makes you think he would drop a league to come here ? Besides we have a perfectly good manager.

Surely the poster is suggesting Derby approach Clarke and not suggesting he should be coming here.

Nigel I think is very happy here but u would not blame him to move up a peg back towards a bigger club
I love him to bits but he did make a few gaffs last season with team selection and a few other bits in some games but we move on
