I think the Stags offered Jimmy a 6 month contract at the end of the season. He's probably been thinking about it and seeing whether he can get any better offers before deciding to sign up again.

That was probably what I was thinking of then.

Unless he's loaned out game time'll be limited unfortunately.

Do we not have a duty of care to a player if they under go surgery whilst under contract?

Therefore the 6 month contract makes sense

Yes, I remember reading about long term injuries at clubs where the player is out of contract during an injury. Basically if a player is injured and his contract runs out the club have to pay him his basic wage until he recovers as well as his rehab. So clubs just offer a new sort term deal. Easier to claim off insurance that way.

That was a few years ago so could have changed.

No chance saloon.
He won't play a single minute in a stags shirt when the season starts.

Never understand when there's any kind of buzz around these kind of signings.
I don't usually get excited when a 20 year old I've never met gets a job in a shop I'll never go in, so why is this any different

Wish him well. Make or break to a certain extent or he could end up lower down non league. Didn't really pull any trees up at Notts County in a league below and I agree his chances here will be limited unless he gets on the pitch and really proves his worth.

Jimmy looked a good prospect two seasons ago but his loan to Notts County was not great and when he was just getting into the swing at Morton he got the worst kind of injury.

I wish him luck and hope he comes back stronger and more determined.

I also wish him the best of luck, but you are wrong in saying he was getting into the swing of things up here, watched him a number of times both live and on tv and he was terrible for Morton..

Must be a special effort to look bad in scottish football, the standard is abysmal

On the other hand if play half decent in that league and score a few you look like Ronaldo, he did neither...

Sorry if I'm wrong but that's what we were told, maybe a sympathetic angle considering the seriousness of his injury.
