July? It gets earlier every year.
You've got to go there and come back, to know where you've been.

July through to September seem like really difficult fixtures on paper

We’re absolutely crying out for a genuinely good start to a season for once.

Nigel Clough talked about that just after we lost at after Wembley:

“That is a week earlier than we should be.

“Again we are having something imposed on us because of a World Cup in Qatar that will not affect us one bit.

“But we are having to start a week early in League Two because of a World Cup. It is absolutely ridiculous. We are the one team who has got to a final and lost.

“So we are at a slight disadvantage straight away. The others will all have had two or three weeks extra to prepare.

“The only other one who will have a disadvantage is the one who comes up from the Conference through the play-offs as they are even later.

“That will be between Solihull and Grimsby and for the winner you're talking about eight weeks from actually finishing the season to starting again.”

“We have to get on with it, though, and our aim will be to have another successful season and try to go that one step further.

“The Wembley defeat energises you and makes you even more determined to do it next year.

“I think the players, after a day or two, will want to get back at it as soon as possible. They will want to put it right, having been so close.

“Let's do everything we can to get in the top three, though if we go through the play-offs again, we do.”

They do look tough, but no way of knowing who the front runners will be this season. Every year when the new fixtures are released I look at them and wonder where the 50 odd points for survival will come from, let alone mounting a promotion challenge. Trying to stay calm for now!

I thought I was over Wembley, then I saw that very uninspiring fixture list.

Is the absolute disgrace of a sportsperson who stamped on Longstaff's heel available to play , Already trying to form a chant list .

Our 2 Tues night away fixtures are Carlisle and Newport. I don't think the EFL like us

Not the only ones in this situation...

They've got both our Carlisle games as midweekers, as well as Gillingham v Grimsby, Swindon v Bradford, Rochdale v Orient, Crawley v Stockport (all to be played on the same game weeks. Some decent travelling involved there for Tuesday nights...

I think he is still suspended. He missed their last match of the season so expect he has at least two more to serve?

Having looked at that little lot, it confirms in my mind that it will be very difficult to achieve promotion this year.

Folk say league two is average. IMO it’s anything but. Seems to get tougher every year.

I agree. Makes last season seem more of a missed opportunity. It will be easier for a team like Port Vale to avoid bottom 4 in League 1 than us get top 3 League 2.

Yep, and the 3 home ones are Wimbledon, Newport and Carlisle.
Can't see much of a revenue boost from traveling fans for those 3
