EFL Trophy 22/23, drawn with Derby & Grimsby + Man City U21

Postby maverick34 » Mon Jun 20, 2022 11:40 am

Drawn in group F for this season alongside the Sheep and Grimsby. Although not an exciting competition until the very latter stages, a game against them lot might generate a bit more interest than usual for the group stage..

Well they are the rams.

TBF it's a closer match than Cheaterfield.

Forest fans call them that as regularly as we use it for Chesterfield.

Whilst appreciative of the fact that the Stags should be looking at success at every opportunity, I am of the personal opinion that an early exit from this competition wont be a bad thing as fixtures will stack up up given the planned winter break this season. The club could do without a massive backlog of fixtures again like the Covid postponements caused last season.

fair enough. I try not to mix with Forest fans

To Stags fans, the sheep are Chesterfield. Heard Newport County called sheep by other fans too.

It'll be the sports direct arena by the time the game comes around, Quite nice to have them visiting us in a competitive game I think
