How did I know you would be the first one to have a slight downer on a universally welcomed signing...

The proof of the pudding is in the eating Private.
We all (well nearly all) drooled over DJ, Murf, Akins etc when they arrived and we didn't need a hanky anymore once we'd seen em play a few times.
However the fact he's seen as a bit 'lazy' sort of tempers my expectation somewhat, Nigel hopefully kicks that trait out of him.
The time I'll judge him will be when we're scrapping at some dog hole like Barrow on a cold Tuesday night and he does the business.

Anyway welcome H I hope you give us you very best every time you play, then you'll do for me

Solid signing, delighted with this. Great way to put Wembley behind us all and inject some enthusiasm into the pre season. Welcome to the Stags Hiram, COYS

I’d imagine that JJ doesn’t take any nonsense, so presumably NC will have had a word to see what he’s like in a group

Log in via Mansfield website itself, I watched the interview and he comes across very well, hungry to get in and start, which I assume he will be

Something we needed a pacy midfielder looks a good signing, i know Clough and his team will have looked into his Character and that will do for me.
We all know with Clough its my way or the highway.
O"Toole, Maris, Clarke, Lapslie, Wallace, Quinn, Law, Boateng,
Looks a good midfield to me

He was on my list of potential signings so I'm happy. Hiram Boateng has won promotion from League 2 with Plymouth and Cambridge and made the play offs with Exeter City. However, as Spiro points out, the proof of the pudding is in the eating.

Good luck Hiram.

Best of luck to the lad.

One thing I've learned the last few years is to ignore Wikipedia or YouTube highlights at League 2 level.

my Cambridge supporting mates opinion

Really good signing. He was very good for us on loan, and was basically first choice from when he arrived in our promotion year. He will run things in League 2 and be a big asset for you next year. There was some talk that we might be in for him after his contract expired with MK Dons. You must be paying him the big bucks. Although length of contract is probably a factor. A 3 year commitment is quite unusual nowadays at our level for a player in his prime who won't have come cheap.

I think you can probably tell which players have a choice of clubs to choose from with the length of the deals that they get. 1 year contract = 1 or 2, 2 year contract = 3 or 4, 3 year contract at League 2 level = 24

That deal will have a promotion wage increase clause in it. Along with a year increase clause in it.
