Pre season is all about building a good base fitness, which is then maintained throughout the season. Also to work on tactics and iron out any kinks. Work more on attacking play against "lesser sides" and more on defensive play against better sides.
Finding who works best in a certain role/position.

That's the 2 P's, 2 T's, 2 F's and an I. Not as catchy as the 6 P's, which we always said as prior planning prevents piss poor performance.

No need for the Prior. When else are you going to plan? You can’t plan during or after.

Quite a few teams starting back pre-season today. Anybody know when our lads are due back in? Is it straight on to the Scotland trip or next Monday?
Assuming not today for an extra break following the play-offs.

Off the top of my head I think I can recall Clough saying they were back in on the 27th, which would seem about right

Witty but not correct, only one player made a difference Hawkins by his absence after 35 minutes and left the rest in a no-win situation.
Our bench had enough to make game of it, but we was left in a hopeless situation, Wembley is a big pitch for ten men.
I was coming to terms with it, until your post

No “so called supporter” would ever single out one player for the team losing a game. Hypocrite.
Cause youth’s a mask, and it don’t last.

I think the 'Fact' you are missing is that NC picked the wrong side in the Play Off Final.....
We were up against it from the off by playing a poor midfield and so narrow.
Hawkins didnt help the cause.....but neither did anyone else and it all started with NC's error.
Please take off the rose tinted glasses and admit NC makes mistakes, he just never blames himself.

Can we please just move on from Wembley
It's done. We've lost
Hawkins made a mistake and he has to live with that. Everybody's messed up at some point
He's obviously going to be the boo boy for the season coming
Let's forget about Wembley and move on and get behind the lads this season

Off the top of my head I think I can recall Clough saying they were back in on the 27th, which would seem about right
Clough originally said we would be back in training on Wed 29
JulyJune. Then he later said it would be delayed a few days.

Well we won't be up for a full season, that's for sure.
