Any actual rumours? Never known a transfer window to be as dead as this. 1000 posts of pretty much raspberry all.

I agree Bobby its like folks like signing 20 players every summer....

3 or 4 signings to strengthen every summer is the way to build surely..

I agree that upgrading the squad by a few players a year is definitely the way to go. But I thought we’d have more progress by now. There’s usually some half believable rumours flying about but there’s not much at the minute.

Again this surely is a good sign stag 95...
I like how NC does his business...
If the player he wants isn't there to take early june he will wait or go another direction...

Either way we don't get to know more importantly nor do other teams.

We're in need of a Yorkie 'Tick Tock Grrr' to move things along I think

Harbottle and Swan from Forest are the strongest rumours which to me seems pretty likely, and if we’re to go with what Clough is saying there will only be one more outfielder signed after that so we pretty much know everything already!

Stevenage have made 10 new signings so far. Now who manages them??

They probably needed them though.

Where has everyone got this idea of having 4 new outfielders from, I may be wrong but though Clough said 5, I expect someone to replace Stirk, Murphy, Bishop, Rawson and Johnson although he hasn’t left the club which is 5 outfielders and 2 goalkeepers considering Boateng and Flinders have already been signed. Correct me if I’m wrong and have missed something though.

It’s taken from the latest Clough interview where he said after the loan signings are confirmed he’s looking for a GK and another attacking option.

As others have said surely it’s good we only need 2-3 players rather than a full team.

Would rather be in our position for instance than singing 10 like stevenage or having 13 players like hartlepool have.

I’d say that’s extremely encouraging.

Thanks, I believe at the start he said 5 outfielders but he probably expects to still have Johnson.

Very good position providing that the incoming players positively impact the starting 11.

Clough has got the luxury this year of not having to build a new squad and only needing a few players, meaning he can be a bit more particular about the type of player that he brings in. It puts the pressure on with those signings though as he needs pretty much all of them to be ‘hits’. If he has too many ‘misses’ with his signings then we run the risk of standing still.

Granted, we will still have a good squad that we know can compete even if new signings don’t have the impact we hope, but we’re talking fine margins here. We want to be adding that bit of quality that makes the difference and gets us promoted. It is Important that he is getting these calls right, particularly if a few of the new lads coming in are youngsters with practically no first team experience - there is a bit more risk about them, and like I say they need to be ‘hits’.

If you have a very strong squad in the first place then the new signings not being "hits" is not as disastrous as signing 10 players and none being hits...

We are in our strongest position in years , on and off the field.

Certainly not disastrous. We will still be competitive, but the aim of the game for us is to move forward and win promotion - we need some good additions to just tip us over the edge.

If they’re ‘misses’ then we’ll be left with the same issues as last season and possibly the same result of just falling short. The defence may be slow and a bit makeshift at times & we may look void of real attacking threat when Oates isn’t on the pitch.

Not many issues and not many players needed but still things to work on and improve which will require strong recruitment

We could very easily be in the position of 3 "new" signings being here already . Akins in his best position , Gordon is as good as a new signing , Boateng seems to be a good signing . Add 1 or 2 more and last seasons team could be improved and still keep a very settled squad

I hope not. He's only scored two goals in his career and he's 29
