It's worth a try.
Instead of keep ringing and hoping someone answers, email the club and leave a contact number.
There is more chance they will see the email than answer the phone, at least it's another option. When they call pay with card collect tickets on day.

Have the club suggested this as a contingency plan or have they still got their collective heads in the sand. They need to put out a press release PDQ. If they do then they could issue tickets today and collect money tomorrow to get around the stupid EFL rules. If they do nothing then that will be shameful.

If we don’t sell out then that’s embarrassing for a playoff match and even more reason why we’re not wasting money on redeveloping the bishop street.

That makes no sense, the only reason we won't sell out is due to the ticketing fiasco, not the lack of demand. With the game being live on Sky I suspect loads have tried to get tickets and given up. We sold out for the FGR game, no way we wouldn't do the same for this one. The club need to sort both out as soon as possible, it's a shambles.

Correct I have friends who were away in York, they tried online and he said 80 times by phone, I offered to go and collect but he just said they had given up and decided on the TV.

We are probably already past the point where we'd need to cut the capacity by 10% for a pay on the day fixture.

Even with the ticketing problems & the game being on TV I'd still expect the gate to be pushing 8,000.

I'd love to know what the real capacity of Field Mill is, because whatever the official figure is, it ain't that.
8,500 max would be my guess.

Just wondering if anyone knows what the new ticketing system is and how it will be better?

I don"t understand why tickets cannot be sold on the day of a match. Any one with a decent reason can they please advise as I am at a loss to undersrand. Back in 1987 I went to Wembley without a ticket. Paid 4 quid to stand. I even rolled up at Alfreton train station and bought a day return ticket which cost the same price as if I had pre booked it weeks in advance and I did not have to sell a body part to fund the travel cost or entry fee. Why do we need to complicate things. "Modern life is rubbish - Blur'

800 left then.

On the basis that their was around 6900 Mansfield fans vs FGR, and assuming Northampton will sell the remainder of their 1500 today we’re currently looking at a gate of around 7600.

Let’s get them shifted or at least hit the 8k mark

Do not understand the arithmetic above 6900 home plus 1500 away is more than 7600

The whole thing is a bit of shambles isn’t it. We’ve had people queueing for hours, others making literally hundreds of calls to the club and still we’ve got 15 per cent of the tickets unsold.

How about a different idea: shift a few hundred tickets each to several local newsagents. Pay them 25 or 50 pence a ticket to sell them and put something out on Twitter where they are available. Bring the unsold back a few days before the game.

6,900 minus the 800+ tickets we still have available = 6,100 + 1,500 Northampton fans = currently looking at gate of 7,600

Yes, a sell out will be about 8,500. I said this in my report last Saturday

I think David Sharpe has spoken quite clearly about the massive frustration with the online ticketing system. Hopefully the new one will be very good.

Very much doubt we’ll sell out now. Even if it’s 500 tickets left because of this disaster of a system, that’s around 10k of income lost. Glad they’re sorting it out for next season but amazed it’s gone on for so long. Commercially our club is bloody awful.

I always believed the following.
5400 Ian Greaves and 1900 behind each goal which equals 9200. I assume the seats are still there so we obviously cannot sell these irrespective of whether a game is all ticket or not. Ie cannot give Northampton 1900 tickets for some reason or other. If we go up then Derby only get 1500 seats ??
