Omar Richards and Neco Williams soon to follow Niakhate, Awoniyi and Dean Henderson signings for Forest. Great business to be fair, they’re giving it a really good go.

Ive never heard of half the names but fair play to the owners, clearly backing the club. I hope they stay up and kick on tbh

All really good young talent, mostly proven at the top level. I thought they’d get battered every week but they’re giving themselves a fighting chance.

Actually a bit further than that, Rose was in his office at Posh waiting to sign the deal when Radford changed his mind. If you believe Steve Evans of course.

£2.5m raised in one day. We need to get out the league this time of asking or we’ll have Crawley, Wrexham, and potentially Salford/Stockport throwing money at it if they don’t go up.

It doesn't guarantee anything. It does, however, increase your chances.

What we're building will always beat these money sides.. let them sink in millions of pounds of debt, what they're doing isn't sustainable.

Salford been throwing money at it every year and got no where near.. not worried about any of those sides

Michael Flynn praises the standard of trialists and makes an interesting comment about throw ins

"The Saddlers have had several free agents training with them in an effort to win deals. Ex-Fulham striker Timmy Abraham has been among those on trial, and Flynn has been impressed with a 'couple of wildcards'. We have let a couple of trialists go, but in the main, the standard of trialists I've had this season is the best I've had as a manager," said Flynn."We've tried to pick the right ones. There's been a couple of wildcards who have really surprised me. There's one or two which would be for the future, and a couple who have come in and really put their hands up to try to win a contract. There's players I know, and I know what they can do once they're fully fit. Trust me, they would be good additions to the squad, but we've got to make it work. There's players still to go out because I've got to be conscious of the budget. We can't just go and sign, sign, sign."

"Over the next three weeks, we'll be working extremely hard on shape, movement, roles and responsibilities, throw-ins – which are a big bug-bear of mine as it's a simple thing done so bad by so many. We'll be working hard on all that."

Northampton Chairman Kelvin Thomas says the club have a ‘competitive’ transfer budget (top 10) but admits they cannot compete with some of the money that’s being splashed out in

"Our budget is one of the worst in the league if you listen to some people! Obviously that wasn’t the case last season and even if it was, Jon and his team did a fantastic job in finishing where they did,” said Thomas. "We will be sensibly ambitious. We commit to a certain number that we are OK losing and we will be in and around that. I think it will be in a similar place to last season or perhaps even a touch higher. It will definitely be a top 10 budget. It won’t be Stockport, it won’t be Salford and it won’t be some of the other teams who are really spending big money but it will be a competitive budget and we will aim to overachieve as we did last season.

If Cobblers cannot compete with teams financially, they will look for other ways to persuade players to join them. Both Sam Sherring and Akin Odimayo pointed to the club’s record of developing young players as key factors in signing. "It’s becoming clear now that more and more we are seen as a club who will develop players,” Thomas added. “There have been some players who would have looked at Fraser (Horsfall) or Charlie (Goode) and would rather come to us over a club which might struggle in League One because we are seen as a progressive club."
