Walsall have signed right back/right midfield player Joe Riley (25) who rejected a new contract at Carlisle United. He made 65(8) league starts for Carlisle and scored 5 goals.

It looks like Walsall are having a few injury problems as well.

"Walsall midfielder Joe Riley (25) has suffered another injury setback – with boss Michael Flynn not putting a time frame on his potential return to fitness. Riley, a summer signing from League Two rivals Carlisle United, has been out since picking up an unspecified problem in pre-season. It was hoped Riley would be back training this week, but another flare-up has prevented that from being the case and Flynn does not currently know when he will be back in action.

Michael Flynn said "It's a nightmare, if I'm honest. It's been two months or two-and-a-half months now. Sometimes, you'd sooner find a hairline fracture and have a time frame of six to eight weeks, because you know what that is. You know how to treat it. This one is very, very frustrating, and I'm not going to even attempt to say how long I think." Riley remains on the sidelines alongside Conor Wilkinson, Joss Labadie, Oisin McEntee and Liam Gordon. "Oisin, Joss and Conor, they're all still months more than weeks." said Flynn

No he retired from the injury he sustained with us, he’s head of recruitment at Fleetwood now.

Colchester United have signed forward Bez Lubala (24) on loan from Blackpool who was previously at Crawley. Scored the winner against the Stags in 2019. He was on loan at Northampton last season and made 5(9) league starts with 0 goals.

Col U have also signed midfielder Dan Chesters (20) on loan from West Ham.
