Spireites sign Stockport centre half, Ash Palmer (30) on a 18 month contract. He was good for Stockport last season and made 40 league starts in a National League winning side. He's made 112(3) league starts for Stockport in total and scored 14 goals winning two league titles (National League North and the National League). He's only made 2 league starts this season.

I'm surprised he did not sign for Oldham.

Apparently their premiership striker is going the other way to Stockport in January in a bit of a swop deal.

He'll struggle in League Two.

Not even good enough to get into their team ahead of Quigley, who is poor himself.

I think you will find the reason he isn't starting is a bit more complicated than that.

Simon Jordan wasn't happen with Bostocks move to Spurs from Palace which he alludes to in his book.

A rumoured Stags summer target, forward Tom Nichols is a transfer target for Col U and Bradford City. He has been left out recent match day squads. Director of Football, Chris Galley, said: “Last week, we received an offer and some strong interest for Tom Nichols and we, as an organisation that believes in a collaborative approach, felt that this was an unnecessary distraction for Matthew Etherington’s first game in charge.”

Winger Mark Marshall (35) is leaving Crawley Town. He has only appeared three times in the EFL Trophy this season.

Rochdale have brought in former Stockport, Peterborough, Salford and Tranmere midfielder Danny Lloyd (31) on an initial one month deal. He was released by Gillingham in the summer and has just recovered from injury.

Former Swansea City striker, Wilfried Bony (34), has been training with Newport County.

Tom Nichols left out of last two Crawley squads as BH Stag pointed out to me the other day.

Reporter who covers Stevenage and Crawley told me today Nichols has signed for Colchester for £60k. Obviously can't join until January

Bradford City have signed left sided 6 foot 2 centre half Cieran Kelly (24) from Bohemians until summer 2025. He appeared in 34 of Bohemians 36 Irish Premier Division matches in 2022. Mark Hughes said they beat off competition from clubs in League One and League Two.

“We are pleased to be welcoming Ciarán to the club as the first of our January signings. He is a player who has attracted a lot of interest from teams at this level and above, but had his heart set on joining us here at Bradford City. We have been monitoring Ciarán for a number of months, and have travelled over to Ireland to meet with him and his family who were all very excited about the move. He is a left-sided centre-half who is fiercely competitive but also fits in well to the style of play we have adopted. He will start training with his new team-mates this week, as we look forward to introducing him properly to the action in the New Year.”

That's what I thought, a bit tongue in cheek, but 30 is no age if you've looked after yourself. Players regularly go on until they're 36 these days.
