I'd like to see Hawkins up front and Rawson in defence, but I don't know if on current form that would make us a better side. Ditto Charsley, Law and Lapslie.

No Akins

This 11 has won 9/10 in league. Akins will for sure find himself in this side eventually but if you asked me to pick our best 11 right now I can't include him.

It hasn't been that exact team the whole time though. Rawson has played some, Clarke and Stirk have had injuries. Clough has made small tweaks to it at times. Aikins would be one small tweak. He may not be ready for Saturday, but then again he may be so glad to have him after over a year of trying, that he throws him in. .

He has tweaked it when necessary, but when he could, he has picked this side as his strongest.

I think in a few weeks this will likely change, but if I was asked now, I can't put Akins in without seeing him play.

We don't have any enforcers really outside of Clarke though.

It’s great to see how much depth we have when we’re fully fit. Akins may just be one addition but he gives us great depth in so many positions.

Remember that players will pick up knocks, the odd Covid case here and there most likely, fatigue with all the Tuesday night games we’ll play etc so they’ll all get chances to play and make a difference.

5-3-2/3-5-2

Bishop

Hewitt
Rawson
O’Toole

McLaughlin
Quinn
Maris
Lapslie/Stirk
Akins

Oates
Hawkins

(Bowery first off the bench to replace a tired striker/Akins at wing back)

4-4-2 diamond

Bishop

McLaughlin
O’Toole
Rawson
Hewitt

Maris
Stirk
Quinn
Akins

Hawkins
Oates

Could even go to a 4-3-3 if we need a goal and have a front 3 with Bowery and Akins either side of Oates - a lot of running power between those three, or have Akins and Oates either side of Hawkins.

I know we’ve played 4-4-2 diamond most of the season but the wingbacks setup listed above really intrigues me with the players we’ve got too.

Akins has to earn his place though and probably will

I think it will now be about the best squad as we move into the second half of the season.
Exciting times

I agree. I think what I like now is our flexibility as well as depth.

Bishop
Hewitt O'Toole Rawson Macca
Akins Stirk Maris Quinn
Hawkins Oates

What a bench we would have as well.

It is literally dependant on the formation he goes with, throughout the season our formation has been fluid, we can play 442 (diamond) 451 or 352 quite comfortably, so its whatever you think suits us best really.

I would go with 442 Diamond.

Bishop
Hewitt O'toole Rawson Macca
Maris
Clarke Quinn
Lapslie
Hawkins Oates

BENCH:
Stech, Charsley, Stirk, Bowery, Akins, Nartey, Johnson.

Potentially
Sinclair (think he will be off) Law, Burke, Gordon, Gale, Ward not even in the squad.

I think Akins will either play right wing back in a 3-5-2 or as a winger in a 4-3-3 personally.

I agree with this, think Ollie Clarke has a problem

I doubt Lucas'll start tomorrow, wouldn't be fair to change a winning team.

That's what I've been saying too. He's the least consistent of the midfielders, but he does do a defensive job there, which Lapslie doesn't. Maris and Stirk should be battling enough though, or O'Toole if he's not in defence. Can't see our captain finding his way back into the team of the others keep up this form.
