fabulous interview with Mark Stevenson on iFollow. I'm sure part of it will be available on the club's social media tomorrow

Lucas Akins is an absolutely great signing I think. I can't wait to see him in a Stags shirt.

And what a classy message to the Burton fans too:

Nice interview that. Good to hear Stevo back too.

Pains me to say it but it will be Jordan Bowery I reckon.

Don't think so. Clough likes Bowery (also for his versatility) and his form has been great recently.

I think right-wing is where we'll mainly see Aikins and it's players like Clarke, Lapslie and Charsley that will be looking over their shoulders, as they'll now all be competing for the central midfield positions with Stirk and O'Toole.

I genuinely think we will be playing 532 a lot in the second half of the season, we played it a lot when forrester was here and Clough started with it against fgr the other night, I think he would then play right wing back for us.

Forrester only started 4 games, and I’m pretty sure we only played three at the back in one and a half of those.

They were the last ones thought wasn’t they? Doncaster and the one he got injured and we tried to play it the other night.

I think we will be seeing it a lot more.

He and we played it at Crawley, went to it at half time vs donny and then started with it against Carlisle.

Yes forgot about Crawley.

You’re right to say it could happen, I think we can be flexible depending on the opposition.

Superb signing.

Having been a critic of the previous transfer windows, I’m delighted with this one!

Well done Sharpe and Clough

Don't know much about him (apart from on here for the past 2 years), but looks like a more clinical Jordan Bowery. Feel sorry for Jordan, as he always gives 100%, but fear that Akins will replace him and the Stags will be better off for it.

I hope there's room for both, either with Aikins wide right in a front 3 or RW. Bowery doesn't deserve to be dropped.

Does anyone know if we tried to sign Akins before? Like ages ago?

Swear we were linked with him when he was at Stevenage and we had Paul Cox

Good signing, one of those where Clough knows exactly what he's paying for and what return he's going to get.

Less of a gamble sort of signing, and I expect it won't have been cheap either for a 32 year old.
But Cloughie has earned the trust, especially with the older heads he has already signed and the work ethic of the squad, to spend on what he deems fit.

Happy with this one.
