Kieran Wallace signed from Burton on a free transfer

Postby PEAR CIDER » Fri Jan 14, 2022 4:33 pm

I know this may seem a bit far fetched after Private Dunnos clear mistake in the transfer dealings earlier, however it appears we are in for Wallace along side york (again)

He was recovering from a torn ACL, and has had good minutes at York since november. York have been in discussion with Burton to try and extend this, but looks like we are also interested in him as a backup. JFH is keen for him to get minutes higher up the pyramid so he can be assesed next season as to whether he will remain a burton player or not.

Is he a LB or a CB? Or a bit of both?

I'd say LB / Left midfielder / CDM. He has and can play Centre Back but I'd be amazed if we bring him in specifically to play there.

We don't like it when players can play more than one position on here  ;)

Evans was king at doing that, probably the worst manager we've ever had for signing crocks.

I’ve heard this is done. Once again, I’ll say nothing for fear of upsetting people

Wiki says he has been on loan at York City but has not played a game, is this accurate?

Is that a serious question? Surely you'd be able to judge a player much better if you've seen him play?

I only ever saw him play at a higher level where he was always incredibly solid, interspersed with a couple of VERY good games.

He's a real team player, will do a job wherever he's asked and is popular with whichever squad he's been in.

He won't let us down.

You do know they're in a higher division than the Stags and have been for some time, don't you?

Quinn was a Burton reject, so was O'Toole.

That wasn't my point...
My point was why does it matter if Bellwhiff has seen him play...?

Clearly broomo has and bellwhiff hasn't..

Was just a sly dig in my view...

I'll be for it now for siding up with the board villain.

I posted earlier in the week that I wouldn’t be comfortable with this signing.

I have no reason do doubt Broomo’s assessment of his ability, but I’m worried about his match fitness and ability to perform immediately

Think this is a signing that was always going to happen eventually as will Brayford before the end of the Summer.

Always good to get another backup LB to Macca, we do rely on him a lot but he has been brilliant this season. Hope he'll be a good player for us if he does sign
