Exactly.

I'm not asking for their opinions on the poll tax.

Just a retweet, name drop in Parliament, maybe a photo op, bring other MPs to a game in London.

I know the sneering scorn for Anderson amongst the left leaning posters but he’s the only one I can think of who got told off for wearing a football scarf in a debate. And it was ours.

If our local MPs were any good I'd agree. The local MP should support the club closest to the town they represent.

However.

Anderson is an ignorant racist (insert expletive here) you don't have to be a leftie to see that. He'd bring the club into disrepute.

Bradley is a Forest fan who lives in Newark, he couldn't give a toss about Stags unless there is something in it for him. Bradley has name dropped Mansfield in parliament, it just usually brings the entire town into disrepute.

And whatabout Meale in 5 4 3 2 .........

I wonder if Ben Bradley is still on the chairman's pay roll

Be interested to know why people think politicians name dropping our football club is a good thing? Right or left leaning, its hardly like someone is going to see a politician mention us in Parliament and decide to go to a game is it, if anything it would put someone off

Ben Bradley has 30k+ Twitter followers.

I can see a lot on here don't quite grasp the power of social media in 2022.

I hope the club is a little more open minded.

I am aware, and social media obviously has a great deal of power, but how does him tweeting about us help in any way? Personally would be surprised if anyone is going to read a tweet from a politician about going to a football match and think 'oh if my local mp is going, I might pop down too'

If you honestly think the extent of influence of social media is "Oh look I'm going to a match" my point above rings truer than ever.

Step 1) we need a better social media presence. There are lots of clubs with relatively small fanbases that develop strong followings due to this. There is an entire community on Twitter that revolves around these clubs and their social media admins.
Step 2) get more active with projects in the community and wider
Step 3) utilise people like Ben who have 30k+ on social media to retweet this programs. Reach out to other MPs or social media influencers he knows/follows him.
Step 4) start a club backed podcast, again share this through all media channels. Reach out to social media influencers/sports stars to get exclusive interviews

I'm not an expert in this field, but I have seen how other clubs/sports people/businesses are able to promote their businesses.

I use Ben as an example because he's an MP so he has connections and influence, albeit he's a backbencher. Happy to hear suggestions of other Mansfield fans with large social media presence?

Not really. Just that this is about the 4th or 5th time it's been suggested and I honestly have no idea who these other people are.

And it derails whatever thread its in.

Report me to an Admin if you think I have a 2nd account?

Mate I'm not that bothered, I know folk who have about 6 accounts on here so you having 2 is tame.
I genuinely just wondered why you'd gone from no posts for 7 years to all.over every thread that's all

Office is dead (everyone taking advantage of optional WFH) and work is quiet.

I don't have any other accounts.

I just lurked for a number of years.

He claims not, though he has an incredibly similar writing style. It appears there is more than one conspiracy theorist Stags fan called Luke living in London. Who knew

I'd love for you to point me to a single conspiracy I've peddled

Or is it, someone views something differently from me = conspiracy theorist, which wouldn't be an unusual stance to take.

no, don't expand. If you want to discuss politicians and politics, don't do it on this forum please. We provide a news and politics forum for you to do that, free of charge.

Well delete Sneag’s comment. Calling someone a racist and then not allowing a rebuttal is wrong.
